Can Climate Campaigns Withstand a Cooling Test?

It's a little more than just La Nina. The climate of the North Atlantic region exhibits fluctuations on the multi-decade scale. It is well known that the Atlantic Ocean undergoes oscillations over a period of 70 to 80 years. This Atlantic multidecadal variability has an effect on climate. There may also may a shift in the Pacific Decadal Oscillation underway as well.

It always worth taking model predictions with a big grain of salt. The IPCC models have never accurately predicted either an El Nino or La Nina event - and they (the IPCC) are pretending to forecast climate out over 50 or 100 years. The fact is that the full effects of these coupled ocean-atmosphere circulations are not very well understood, but that they do have a significant effect on climate.
