A new 6 storey medical office building at 241 Queen Street East, in Brampton with 12,344 square metres of floor space and 553 spaces in a 3 storey parking garage. We don't know who the architect is. Urban planning provided by Weston Consulting.

Zoning bylaw amendment will allow for general commercial and residential development in future phases.

Two new public roads: a new north-south street on the western edge of the property, and a new east-west street on the south edge (city will purchase 9 Hansen Street to accomodate this).

The city is in the process of creating a new street network for this section of Queen from Kennedy to the 410, as part of the Queen Street Masterplan, building off an older plan.

The development has been approved. The mayor said in a recent speech that construction will start in the fall of 2017.

nice to see this intensification along Queen Street. With any luck Brampton can start to get into the intensification game a bit more.

OPA & ZBA submitted, though no docs.

OZS-2023-0021

Project Description:

241 Queen Street East
The proposed development is for the construction of four (4) 35-storey residential apartment buildings and one (1) 4-storey office building and will assist in implementing the planned transportation context of the Queen Street Corridor Secondary Plan (Secondary Plan Area 36) by constructing a portion of two planned public local roads.

Coming to the Planning and Development Committee on Sept 25. Staff have concerns about site access, amount of proposed green space/opportunities for placemaking, adjacent industrial uses, and access to regional infrastructure (namely, water and wastewater). They do note that this is an intensification corridor, so it'd probably be approved after addressing those issues.
