Amherstburg

Amherstburg is located along the Detroit River just south of Windsor. It
is an old town, established in 1796 as a military base by the British. Fort
Malden--now a national historic site--can be seen in the first few photos.

You really didn't think I would take you so close to Detroit and not have at least one skyline pic, did you?

Great photos. Boring looking town haha. Some nice buildings though.

You know what I would do if I were you? At the beginning before the pictures, embed a picture of a map or a link to the location on a map site like Live Search Maps, or Google Maps.
That way I know where the heck I'm looking. I had no idea where Amherstburg was lol.

@khristopher: Amherstburg is in Southwestern Ontario, along the Detroit River just south of Windsor. The nuclear plant visible in the picture of the docks is the Fermi 2 plant in Michigan.

Agreed. Not sure if that is a heritage building, vrai or faux or not, but the railings and pillars look a little anachronistic.

Amherstburg looks like a nice place to visit, though I don't know if I'd travel too far out of my way to do so. My understanding is that it is one of the oldest towns in the province, with among the most 18th century buildings still standing.

Wonderful look at small town Ontario. Would love to live in these places - must be cheap - but what would one do for a living??
