On the upcoming TRCA Executive Ctte Agenda is the purchase of just over 40ha or 100 acres of land to add to the Albion Hills Conservation area.

I consider this a good news story in terms of environmental protection and restoration.

Worth noting is the purchase price, which is only $400,000.

To gain perspective, an investment comparable to the Don River Mouth naturalization and Flood protection (1.25B)................would theoretically purchase 1,250km2 (double the size of the City of Toronto) for protection, or over 125,000 ha of land.

100% that's a sweetheart deal. This is in the middle of the Palgrave estate subdivision area in Caledon, it otherwise has development potential. No way it would go for $400k on the open market.
