Given the slippage in time, of ~5 months I wonder if there's been further slippage in budget.

That said, at $380,000 a unit, it's less scandalous than some of the other projects which have gone off track, ~40% less than the worst of them......... if those numbers hold.

They have had "partial-occupancy" on that site for a few months now - I believe the End of 2023 target is for full-occupancy...

If you are concerned about delays, we wait yet another Winter for the specious NIMBY appeal on the CUMMER site to be thrown-out at the OLT (and in a perfect-world all of the City's costs from those delays to be charged-back to the Residents' Association folks who filed the appeal)...

Mayor Olivia Chow and the Province of Ontario to announce new permanent modular homes at 39 Dundalk Dr. on National Housing Day

Date: Wednesday, November 22

Time: 10 a.m. remarks followed by a media availability, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a site tour

Location: 39 Dundalk Dr., Dining Lounge

Parking: In rear parking lot of 7 Glamorgan Ave.

Speakers:

  • Mayor Olivia Chow
  • The Honourable Rob Flack, Associate Minister of Housing
  • Representative of Councillor Michael Thompson (Scarborough Centre)
  • Patricia Mueller, CEO, Homes First Society
  • Bob Macdonald, Assistant General Manager, TCHC

LOL, the press release from the Province, for the above noted event:

Thank goodness the province is chipping in 2M for a building that is more or less occupancy ready.

I mean, don't get me wrong, that's great; but they make it seem as if this is new money that is going to improve things beyond what is being or has been done. Tis not so.

May I add, at ~$35,000 per unit this is the kind of money that will make things happen! (cough)
