25 Storeys is very high for the site. Surprising to me.

That being said, I am not surprised given the anti-development rhetoric other developers faced on this street and by the Ward councilor recently. Better propose 25 to get 20 than propose 20 to get 8.
 
Developer is probably using Brownlow/ Soudan application as a precedent.
Definitely. The 200 Soudan site even appears in their massing drawings.

The Soudan community resistence about to be overwhelmed.

What a dense super-bloc Yonge-Mt. Pleasant and Eglinton-Soudan is going to become!
 
I feel like it's a bit tall, but I understand completely the need for more senior oriented apartments. Still....twenty five floors acrosd the sttreet from a house....yowza.
 
I agree 25 might be slightly too much height, maybe 20 would be more appropriate. However this building has a mid rise form facing Soudan, which the Brownlow proposal did not, so it has a better transition to the low rise area.
