Santa's comes to Weston Sunday

Santa Claus is coming to town this Sunday along with his reindeer and more than 70 floats, mascots and bands all marching down Weston Road to kick off the holiday season.
But there's still some work to do behind the scenes in preparation for the jolly old man's return with only a couple of days left until the 26th annual Weston Santa Claus Parade.
"I'm in Santa Claus parade hell," joked Laura Alderson, co-ordinator of the Weston Business Improvement Area that is again sponsoring the fun-filled event. "With over 70 entries in a parade, it becomes a logistical nightmare."
The parade is scheduled to go as planned, however, rain or shine, on Sunday at 2 p.m. starting on Weston Road at Church Street and continuing south to Sidney Belsey Crescent.
A pipe band will signal the start of the festivities followed by several new entries this year including a Dixie jazz band in tribute of the survivors and victims of Hurricane Katrina that devastated New Orleans this summer.
