Hmmm, I dont' know about the interior, or even the sides, but i rather like this building's street presence/facade.

I'd also be leary of just keeping the front and grafting some giant, incongruous blob on to the back.

No immediate plans have been announced but this building has been acquired by Dream:

The acquisitions of the 912 apartments were originally announced during the summer, but at the time Dream did not provide further information about the properties. The sites are Weston Common, a two-tower mixed-use apartment complex with 841 units, and a smaller building at 262 Jarvis St.

Although the exterior paint job looks to be reasonably well done, I still prefer the original brick colour to be shown instead.

Unfortunately, as the site has just been sold for $16 million, the future attention it is likely to get will be demolition.

Or the front of the building will be awkwardly glued onto the podium of a tower.

Yeah, guess so. When the incorporation of an existing, historical structure is done poorly, as is so often the case, you might as well have demolished the original building entirely, so as to at least have a blank canvas.
