Paradise Grapevine will be opening their new restaurant location on Geary. They've posted on their IG that this will be the spot. Although it seems rather unlikely that the empty lot at the 216 Geary Ave address will be used for a new building. As based on indicators, it seems more in line to be used for outdoor patio space:

The new Paradise Grapevine location at 218 Geary is now open, including an outdoor patio in the 216 address space.

Good question. From what I'm gathering, that ceiling should be new. As the building itself doesn't hold any substantial historical connection. And based on some Yelp postings, here's how the interior of the former Portuguese restaurant/take out place used to look like:
