2025 44th Ontario general election (Feb 27, 2025)

I'm very much looking forward to the bombardment of election ads!

🤮

Would be interesting to see what sorts of hinted-at proposals are pushed up as election goodies and for campaign ads.

New renderings, maps, etc. especially for transit!

Could we even see a formal announcement of certain projects like the Sheppard Line de-stubbification project?

There's a Ford Presser w/the Min. of Transport tomorrow morning in Brampton....

So for campaign promises relevant to Urban Toronto we have only the extension of line 10 into downtown Brampton confirmed so far.

If I had to guess other areas of new spending: Line 4 extension advances into next stage, 401 tunnel (god help us), GO 2.0, and suburban transit wildcard (something in Durham)

Maybe: Ontario Line North Extension (This is Doug’s signature project after all + York region brownie points if it goes into Markham/Richmond Hill)

Get rid of your cable. I disconnected 17 years ago. I don't even know what Poilievre sounds like and I'm grateful. No equivalent in the context of the provincial election though...

I'm a cord-never, but ads are now on streaming too, and podcasts, and my old-fashioned OTA antenna to watch the Leafs game tonight on CBC.

On June 2, 2022, the turnout of actual voters was 44.06%. The Progressive Conservatives won 83 out of the 124 seats available, with 40.83% of the total votes. Second place went to the New Democratic Party with 31 seats, from 23.74% of the total votes.

That meant that 55.94% did not bother to vote. That meant that the PCs won with 17.989698% of the eligible votes.

Please vote. Vote strategically, for the party in your riding that can beat the party you don't want, even if you are not a member of that party. Start by looking up your 2022 riding results at this link https://newsinteractives.cbc.ca/elections/ontario/2022/results/#/
