2019 Canadian Federal Election

This election will go down to the fact if the Conservatives can rally the centrist to them and if progressive voters mostly stay home or vote for other parties.

The answer to those questions will determine if Trudeau wins or loses.

Andrew Scheer's Conservative Party is struggling to make inroads in Ontario, the battleground province that's likely to decide October's federal election. He might have Ontario Premier Doug Ford to thank for that.

But the Ford government's dismal poll numbers could present a big a problem for Scheer, who needs Ontario if he's to win the federal vote that's now less than five months away.

Or actually fund the military on a consistent and sustainable basis rather than treating it as a discretionary budget line, but that's just me.
Like transit, to see best value per investment and efficiency of operation, a steady, dependable funding is much to be desired.

Ford's 'sudden awareness' is too cynical and too late. His actions have been so blatant and *nasty* that his 'hallelujah' moment has already toggled Ontario voter minds against him, and any other Con manipulator associated.

The opposition would like to thank Big Dug for digging the massive trench that will consume him. Scheer better keep his distance to save himself from sheer disaster. Massive damage is already done.

Such a shame....

Andrew Scheer has an Ontario problem - and it could be Doug Ford

DoFo will be the savior of both the Ontario and Federal Liberal Parties. Had Christine Elliot become Ontario premier she would have run a good ship, yes trying to reign in the deficit, while never going to war with Toronto nor trying to become its mayor again, and would never have appealed to populists and our own deplorables. With Elliot as premier, the Ontario Liberals would stand no chance of rebirth or contention in 2021, and Trudeau's Liberals would be worried about losing the critical Ontario voters in 2019. Even DoFo's arch-enemy, Toronto mayor John Tory will sail to a huge victory if he decides to run again, all thanks to DoFo.

DoFo is almost a Liberal plant or double agent.

From Lord of the Rings, on the ring itself: "It is a gift". WTF were the Cons thinking?
And we still don't know the real story on Elliot's vote tally.

Russian election interference could only dream of results like this...

Fedeli, btw, is Wormtongue.

It doesn't help that Scheer will probably campaign with Ford.

Doug looks like he's gained a lot of weight. And that belt hanging down below Scheer's gut...

Ya know, I'd give a seriously hard time to one of the regressive forum members here for harping on the appearance of a woman or male candidate/leader of a progressive party, and tell them they should spend more time discussing ideas and policies and less worrying about weight, hair or hemline.

I'm going to have to be consistent.

The problem w/Scheer and/or Ford is not their waistline.

Its their policies and their character.

Let's stay focused on that.

The issue is though Scheer Conservatives are not doing badly in Ontario...

They will 100% pick up seats from 2015, it's just compared to the rest of the country where Liberals have dropped a lot like out west and Atlantic Canada the Tories have not picked up as much.

I think one could say what could stop the Conservatives from getting a majority in Oct is Ford in Ontario, however polls have shown a lot of weakness for the Trudeau as well.

I dont see how Trudeau gets a majority in Oct really

It's hilarious how the knives are already out for Trudeau within his own party, as there's already open talk of recruiting Mark Carney as their new leader if they lose the fall election.
