    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

I believe the RHVP has enough room in the median to accommodate a widening. One side is already 3 lanes from Greenhill Rd to Upper RHVP intersection. Widening of the 403 should be done before any widening of RHVP/Lincoln parkways.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I understood the announcement as limited service to Confederation GO with no information about hourly service, maybe I am misunderstanding or missing information?

    Hamilton 75 James Condos | 108m | 34s | LIUNA | Graziani + Corazza

I was curious: Welland, Ontario (City) ≈ 81.16 km² Ward 2, Hamilton ≈ 6.14 km² That would be 9,771 people per sq km. For comparison: Vancouver (Downtown) 18,837 Toronto (Downtown) 16,608 Montréal (Downtown) 8,367 Calgary (Downtown) 7,778

Once the LRT is completed and running for a decade, I predict ward 2 population to reach 60,000. 2021 stats say 37,080.

Imagine how many more towers there would be downtown if city hall was not an impediment to development during the condo rush.

    SWO HSR

Economic considerations should always be forefront. Those freight lines are the backbone of international and domestic trade, sacrificing them for passenger rail would be an economic loss that would negatively impact businesses and jobs. Your proposal would be a net economic loss (any economic...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Anyone have information on when the Confederation GO station will be completed this year? Nothing really available public besides "sometime this year".

    SWO HSR

    - Building HSR to Windsor meets the "nation building project" criteria being touted by the federal government - 1 hour and 15 minutes to Union would allow Londoners to commute to Downtown Toronto offices 2-3x a week. People already commute longer than this that live within the GTA. 2-3x a week...

Hamilton Tiffany Square Condominiums at West Harbour | ?m | 8s | Sonorak

With hourly service and 30 minute service soon at this station, one would think developers would be eager to build here.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

You misunderstood my point. 413 taking over the 407 along the pathway I highlighted would result in reduced tolls (maybe no tolls eventually?) and divert traffic off the currently congested QEW/403 portion.

It could be worth the cost considering how much traffic could be alleviated taking highways off the QEW through Burlington/QEW.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Do you guys think once 413 is completed, the government would buy the 407 from the 401 interchange to QEW, rename it to 413, and then rename the 403 through Mississauga as 410? Always seemed logical to me 403 should start at the Burlington exchange.

    Hamilton Albright Trails | 20.9m | 5s | Valery Homes | KNYMH

This neighborhood will have a 15-20 minute bus connection to Confederation GO station and be less than 10 minute drive away. Good to see density built here. 10,000 people already live in this neighborhood, with the completion of this project and 399 Greenhill too, there should be discussion...

    Transit Fantasy Maps

I was thinking population growth north London and further west in Middlesex/Lambton counties would necessitate a highway going from 402 to Kitchener. Widening 401 from London to 403 is another option I guess, but it would help travelers more with a highway north of London. Also Stratford and St...

How many decades, if ever, does this highlighted portion of the future highway become a serious discussion to alleviate traffic off 401?

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

Another reason to build Toronto-London-Windsor ahead of Montreal-Quebec City if we can only choose 1 is the former has the opportunity to create more new riders. People that work out of an office 1-3 days/week are very likely to live in London and travel to Toronto for work. This helps with the...

    Hamilton Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

What does this forum think about building out the BLAST network in Hamilton all in one go vs B-line LRT then the rest of the network later. edit to add my thoughts: Building BLAST all in one go will yield more short-term benefits. LRT has its advantages for the B-line compared to BRT but are...
