    Toronto Biblio Lofts | 28.91m | 7s | NVSBLE | BDP Quadrangle

Absolutely fantastic brick. This reminds me of some weird Little Portugal/Dundas West 1970s-weird-renovation-with-brick-arches energy, but then kicked up to a 10. It's a great contribution to Riverside. Edit: I got cited for using "inappropriate" language in my enthusiastic description of the...

    Toronto Toronto House | 186.53m | 58s | Westbank | Hariri Pontarini

Agreed - the pebbledash treatment on the sidewalk is great. The entire treatment of the heritage facade is really great too, it feels better than the sum of its parts. Really good work from HPA & the consultant team here. 👍

Fantastic shot of a gorgeous tower.

Toronto One Crosstown Towers I, II, III, and The Crest | 129.86m | 39s | Aspen Ridge | Core Architects

I think this is CORE's best work. The towers are looking really sharp and actually integrate into the retained facades really well, without feeling contrived. Honestly surprised pleasantly with it and I give it a thumbs up from what I see so far.

    Mississauga Canopy Towers | ?m | 38s | Liberty Development | DIALOG

It feels like DIALOG hired the P+S/IBI Group multi-res design team in the mid-2000s, froze them in cryo-sleep chambers, and then un-froze them in the 2020's and unleashed their work on the city.

    Toronto Birch House & Indigenous Hub | 50.3m | 13s | Dream | Stantec

I want to like what they were trying to do but any of the lightness created by those thin strands of material is undone by the literally massive columns holding it up. The horrendous design as a backdrop isn't helping. I'm not sure what the team at Quadrangle was thinking when they penned that one.

    Toronto Concord Canada House | 231.97m | 74s | Concord Adex | Arcadis

Concord, for the final "crowning" phase of their development: "Yeah, make it as generic and uninteresting as possible. Then tack a maple leaf pattern and balcony heaters on it and name it after Canada. That's iconic. Oh, by the way - don't forget to make the podium super generic too - offer...

Value Village is moving into one of the retail units.

    Toronto 55 Mercer | 155.5m | 47s | CentreCourt | Arcadis

I think the facade motif in white is really well handled but the way it wraps over the top of the tower is awkward and the two facade patterns don't really resolve into each other very nicely. Overall pretty solid though.

    Toronto Queen & Ashbridge | 60.15m | 17s | Context Development | Teeple Architects

Good God this looks terrible. The cladding in particular is just unforgiveable. It's not even completed and it looks like it's falling apart. Imagine how it will look 10 years from now. (And then 20, 30...)

    Toronto Elm – Ledbury | 94.18m | 28s | Fitzrovia | Hariri Pontarini

Wonderful placemaking here. Pontarini and CCxA pull it off once again! 👌I'm going to have to go check out the park here. It's so nice to see a block "carved" into something greater than the sum of its parts - narrower, lithe podiums that allow the centre of the block to become a communal...

“Real” laid on site masonry is always a refreshing sight. 😀

    Toronto 6125 Yonge | 62.6m | 17s | Arkfield | DIALOG

I’m years late to this but dare I say this is actually a big step up from the usual work from this office. I actually think there’s some cool ideas in this. Shame it’s changed to the latest scheme which isn’t very interesting.

    Toronto The Whitfield | 130m | 39s | Menkes | Giannone Petricone

There is no incentive for Menkes to care about maintenance in the long term. They categorically don’t care and put that in the “let the purchasers deal with those issues” column. (This goes for almost all condo development.)

    Toronto West Don Lands: Block 13 | 139.31m | 43s | Dream | Henriquez Partners

If you think DREAM had any intentions to build that earlier iteration — especially during the current circumstances of the market and the cost of borrowing — you are smoking something strong that I would really like to get in on.

    Toronto 11 YV | 213m | 62s | Metropia | Sweeny &Co

Is it? Or is it a 1980s-90s Toronto vibe?

    Toronto Maverick | 154.53m | 49s | Empire | Arcadis

Love how the heritage planners decided it was important to "restore" 2.5 storeys of the old facades but the ground floor elevation was a free-for-all.
