A suspended heart would be a bit too on-the-nose I think, like the pond itself is already a heart, we get it. Could be a safety hazard too with the winds we get.

What will bring this from OK to Pretty Nice Actually is if they will install those angled panels on the side of the balconies like in the renders. Nice colours so far though, and the pattern that references the old roofline.

    Toronto 299 Ossington | ?m | 3s | ROC Developments | StudioAC

Oh this poor building. Should have just been put out of its misery.

Toronto Bathurst Quay Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | Kearns Mancini

It’s already treated to even out the patches. That’s as good as it’s going to get, considering how damaged and stained it was before.

    Toronto 126 Avenue | 40.07m | 11s | Taheri | Icon

It’s the less special infill buildings that contribute the most to the street experience overall. Good on them for recognizing their value without an official designation. If only MORE would be saved like this to preserve what makes Toronto, Toronto.

    Toronto Canary House | 50.3m | 13s | Dream | BDP Quadrangle

Toronto has a lot of Victorian buildings with extreme asymmetry, it was just part of the style

    Toronto 2010 Yonge | 59.8m | 14s | Sud Group | Graziani + Corazza

First proposal I’ve seen that looks decent with that kind of wedding cake massing.

Toronto Bathurst Quay Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | Kearns Mancini

It looks so streamline moderne now. It's clear there was an architectural intent to it that was obscured this whole time by industrial motley and decay.

I enjoy cantilevers, let’s see this go up.

Why do they always have to put a gazillion different facade styles and materials? When has that ever looked good?

    Toronto St Lawrence Centre Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | CreateTO | Hariri Pontarini

Now they get rid of the entire heritage element to play off against, and yet nothing was done to add more interest to the new elements. Just meh all around. It really should have been the Zeidler submission.

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Yes! I was hoping they would save the tower. It’s the only one of those in Toronto.

I see marketing consultants are still a good investment.

    Architectural Style Inquiry

I think it really is just meant for access to the other side. Definitely unusual for them to connect on the second floor but not the ground floor. That pic more than anything else shows how sad it is to cover up original brickwork with inferior materials.

    Toronto 87 Ethel Avenue | 109.65m | 34s | iKore | Turner Fleischer
