    I get it people hate condos, but this site has been vacant for so long and it's literally a dead corner atm. I would love to see the retail and all young residents into the area along with the people/project in 88/100 queen street.

    I presume you live in city did not live in suburban areas or know this area well. That McDonalds is the closest food out in a 20 minute walk radius. Theres no choice.

    The No Frills is important for the neighbourhood, the McDonalds is a well for the Unionville HS kids, hopefully they move under another condo building before the development closes it.

    Living in condo during occupancy period and assigning it. No capital gains as principle residence.

    1 year time limit is a myth, the CRA can challenge you even if you lived there for 2 years. The longer you live there the less likely you will be audited, it also depends on your friends history.

    At this point you should forget about the compensation and pray that they dont cancel. You get some money back from Tarion for the the compensation but it's nothing compared to appreciation you would get from the completion of the unit.
