    Unwin Ave - Undriveable

I enjoy riding on Unwin, and have for many years as a faster way to zoom across than the meandering leisure trail. No reason why it shouldn't be improved for all users.

    Marlee/Glencairn Transformation

I don't believe the Marlee-Glencairn project, which is a decades long cross-cutting plan involving zoning and increasing density will impact the near term plans to extend the York Beltline, though I don't have any insider info. The current issue with the Beltline plan is the housing project...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

And who would that be . . . ? Honest question as it's never clear to me with this Line 5 PPP situation.

    Yes, thank you.

    Unwin Ave - Undriveable

I was coming from the Spit, as mentioned, so basically from the bridge / Marina road. There were numerous cars on the road, kicking up mud and dust so I don't think anyone notices or cares about the signs. I guess it's something!

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I wanted to showcase the bike gutters, I mentioned that were installed on the stairs to the recently rebuilt Glen Road pedestrian bridge across Rosedale Valley Road. As you can see here, they are post-market gutters that are affixed to the stairs with a big enough buffer from the railing that a...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

There is some problem with the next train signs, recently in both directions on the Eglinton West underground portion, station signs were showing "train arriving now" with no train anywhere in site for at least 5 minutes. Likewise when our train arrived at subsequent stations, platform signs...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Just an *update* on the Forest Hill Line 5 station south entrance, three weeks since my last post. They moved some plywood. Still no signs of it opening though.

    Unwin Ave - Undriveable

Wait, does this mean they closed Unwin? I just rode it on my bike (BAD IDEA) westbound from the Spit and I did not see any signage like this.

    Shabby Public Realm

Two words (and sorry no pics): Unwin Avenue. How this street remains open to the public in its state of utter disrepair is wild. It's obviously been destroyed by the heavy equipment and trucks that use it constantly. It is heavily cratered, covered mostly in a layer of mud or otherwise a layer...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I'm quite sure it just uses some AI model to do it as well, which is whatever (here we are!) but I doubt it is an effective solution at all, and likely creates all kinds of weird headaches for staff.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Thanks @Northern Light! Just to follow up: I reached out to Danielle and got a call back from a staffer who listened and had some thoughts on my issues. One thing to note: the section I chose on "obstruction in a bike lane (or city property)" was evidently not the right one. It's a bit like...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Trying to make yet another 311 quest for impeded bike lanes on Eglinton (east this time) and I find the process almost designed to push users away. Here is the first question they ask you, which requires a "yes" to proceed. So... if the items were "installed or placed by the city" you cannot...

    Shabby Public Realm

Hooooo boy, don't get me started on this one. Really, don't. But here you can find out something about it in this Fixer column from a few years back. The story is egregious and involves the same business/family that holds decades of exclusive rights to food sales in High Park and the western...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Thanks for the update, boo to the continued lack of commitment as to when they are going to put in these lanes. When the weather gets warmer is both an obvious statement and one that contains no actual information. I've been emailing the councillors, mayor and EglintonTOday asking about these...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Thanks! I some of of those identical mesh panels, also knocked out of place on the Chesswood bike lane in North York last week. I'll make a 311 report on those.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

That would be because I followed a link to the cycling thread, and it went to Skyrise Cities. Apologies for the off topic post!

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Did they rebrand Urban Toronto to Skyrise Cities? Didn't it used to be called that? I'm trés confused. Edit: I came here from an email link about @2WheelPoli's post, and the link was to Skyrise Cities. So basically Skyrise Cities is like the global version of UT, using the exact same user...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

No comparison to your amazing drone shots, but here are some close-ups from Monday, March 23. Nothing happening, though to be fair it was around 7 p.m. I included the new stairs at Dundas and the old stairs (with fresh paint?) at Riverdale just because. For the record, the old style bike...
