100% agree. I think the downtown core is already overbuilt and we need to spread condo development to other parts of the city. Besides, I don't see how the developer can get their ROI with the current high cost of capital and competition with other new condos south of QEW and existing hotels ?!

yeah, Shopify is not moving to the new building. Let's see when a new corporate tenant will lease the building given the current hybrid working environment.

When will Reuters start moving in ? Summer ? albeit their initial announcement was supposed to be early 2021 :)

Thanks for keeping us abreast of the construction progress. Given the large footprint of the site, how long does it take to complete each level (2-3 months for the underground level and a month for each floor in the main tower) ? Curious to see how the ramp is taking shape to the parking garage...

For the lake view, East (and West) Towers are mainly blocked by Ritz (53 floors), Simcoe place (33 floors), RBC center (43), Metro Hall (~30 floors), the new TD tower (46+ floors). 50+ floors would be above most of the buildings in the south and other buildings in the entertainment district.

Nice pic, but I can't imagine anyone would swim or relax in the open air on 80+ floor in the windy summer or snowy winter. There are many choices with this price tag for the wealthy.😁

Does anyone know if/when the city will start widening the pedestrian walkway, albeit there have been underground construction work in different parts of John street in the past couple years ...

The site is proceeding at lightning speed. Some folks were anticipating the foundation is not ready until next year, but the crane and steel columns are already up in a few months.. It is amazing to see the progress made each week by the large crew coordinating different tasks in the project.

A good comparison with Pinnacle One Yonge for similar height, but this one seems to have lots of steel bars for each floor (may be less for the upper floors) which would take time and less people to work on this project compared to Pinnacle.

Thanks for the detailed plan. I see "concrete" pedestrian walkway in the above plan layout. How does this fit into the "stone" pavement/sidewalk and tree planting in John street improvement plan proposal by the City if/when the plan will be implemented ...

It is disappointing/misleading that Pinnacle didn't follow the architectural specifications as the pictures do show shiny glass with open concept for the building. It will be interesting to see if the interior design for the lobby and corridors are modern and well lighted similar to other...

Sounds like people would like to see more First Canadian Place, TD (black) towers, Brookfield Place than CIBC Square, 160 Front (new TD tower), Union Park, Commerce Court 3.. When do you think it will happen ? Curious to see if the builder can find a major anchor tenant for the nineteen...

There are too many "brick" walls (11 in total) on the west side of the main building. I can understand the width of the brick wall would need to match/cover the six main concrete pillars, but it is quite disappointed to see that the other five "brick" walls are so wide that these "artificial"...

Thanks for posting these great pictures. I see an open area in the center front for all the floors. Is this part of the building design to let the sunlight coming into the lobby (or retail shop) ? If so, that's pretty cool..

Yeah.. the current price per sq. ft. in Toronto downtown is around $1000 CAD. Is this considered cheap ? May be.. if you compare the current price in Manhattan (as per diagram), Hong Kong, London etc. Question is whether Toronto will continue to attract investment to generate jobs and population...
