    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

CIBC Square probably has a strong recovery rate because most CIBC employees now use it as their office at least once a week. CIBC has given up leases on many other office buildings in the Financial District such as offices in 161 Bay St (TD Tower), complexes in Melinda Street, and the heritage...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I beg to differ... That Milliken station construction has been going on forever (even before the pandemic) and can be hazardous to your health. I just twisted my ankle yesterday there because of all the construction going on. To get to and out of the boarding zone, you have to negotiate a maze...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I honestly thought the Milliken Station and Steeles underpass construction will be completed by now... The construction started way before the pandemic hit more than two years ago. From the pics, it appears it will take another couple of months to get the job done. I won't be surprised this time...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I bet there would be more... Pre pandemic I would occassionally see folks commuting by bike from downtown to suburbs north of the 401 and vice versa. The North-South arterial roads I listed... Bathurst, Birchmount, Midland... have no ramps to the 401 which is why they are safer for cyclist in my...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

What is really needed are bike lanes along North-South arterial roads that cross under or above the 401... Along Bathurst in the West, Yonge, Birchmount/Midland in the East. The 401 is a major barrier for those coming from the north. That IMHO is what is sorely lacking.

    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

Same here... I prefer to have the extra two-three hours of time in a work day that I spend commuting (via bicycle or via GO Train)... I get more sleep in a day, actually get more things done work-wise as there are less distractions from meetings and stuff. I still ride the bike to workout (plus...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

From the posted vid, the Yonge bike lanes are too narrow... I wouldn't feel safe passing a slower cyclist on those lanes. They should have made the lanes at least as wide as those on Richmond.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Having painted bike lanes are much better than nothing in suburban arterial roads.

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

I hope the above prosposal is acted on in the near future. McNicol - Cummer - Drewry actually makes for an excellent East-West route for cyclists in North Scarborough and North York. It has a bridge over the 404 without any ramps to it. The only area where it becomes hairy is in the section...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Crossing the 401 along Warden is going to be hairy even with cycle tracks... I used to ride along Warden when heading home from downtown until I almost got killed by an 18 wheeler that cut me off as it was headed towards the Eastbound ramp to the 401... I had to crash my bike into the curb...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I hope Warden is given priority... It would be nice to have a safe North South corridor for cyclists that takes you across the 401. I commute from downtown to North Scarborough (Warden / Steeles) and on my way home, I take Dundas > Greenwood > Danforth > Woodbine > O'Connor > Vic Park > Gatineau...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

It is actually quite pathetic... For longer distance commuters like me what will be really nice is if the bike lanes actually allow cyclists to get from the inner suburbs (Scarborough, Etobicoke, North York) to the downtown core and back with the added safety provided by bike lanes. These Active...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Yes I have seen that plan... but, where will those bike lanes lead to? It would be great if the proposed bike lanes to the east connected to those lanes that exist along Steeles from McCowan to HW48 and beyond (hopefully to Taunton) and if the proposed lanes extended at least up to Vic Park or...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I need to control myself from hurling invectives on this forum but I am beyond frustrated whenever I read about the Vision Zero and Cycling Network BS that I have been reading about for the past 20 or so years... All the so called "improvements" have been limited to the core. There is no...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I even wrote Karygiannis and Metrolinx with proposals on a map how to make the Milliken GO Station station more bike and pedestrian friendly to neighboring subdivisions. I walk 2.5 km to and from the GO Station at Milliken when I am not commuting by bike to work downtown. All I got was a canned...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

As one who bike commutes from North Scarborough to Downtown via Birchmount - Dandforth - Sherbourne on the way South and Dundas - Greenwood - Danforth - Woodbine - O'Connor - Gatineau Hydro Corridor - Birchmount on the way North (only in the spring to fall on this path since Gatineau corridor is...
