    HST/rebate calculator for Ontario?

Given the transition from GST to this new HST tax system, could someone please help in locating an easy-to-use calculator so that you can see exactly what taxes and rebates are applicable (for those that bought during the transitional period)? I found this link but it doesn't seem to work...

    suggestions for renovating the ceiling?

My smooth ceiling has a spotty paint job from the builder and I want to canvass some interesting ideas from you all. I don't want to repaint it so am thinking of some innovative ideas, e.g. paste cork (could that provide more soundproofing?) or aluminum or mosaic tiles? Is that a good/bad...

    IKEA: hardest piece you've assembled?

I've put together quite a few things from there, but this has to take the cake: PAX UGGDAL closet sliding doors. They have like a million pieces and 40 not-perfectly-clear steps, not to mention really requiring 2 ppl to assemble. Of course, parts of it are glass, so it's also heavy and...

In the Toronto area, is it safe to assume that new condos use drywall and wood studs? I guess that's good enough to hang a TV from the wall? Thx.

Where would you place a 'L-shaped' sofa?

Recommendations on good real estate lawyer (condo)?

Any opinions on this? I suppose that as a prospective buyer of a new condo in the GTA, the lawyer fees should be around the $1,000 mark? Thx in advance for your suggestions.

Problems with buying the *higher* floors of a development?

As a flipside to my question here: http://urbantoronto.ca/showthread.php?12382-Problems-w-buying-*lowest*-floor-of-a-development, I would like to get your views on buying higher floors. I suppose if there is a power outage, then walking up and down the stairs would be a problem. However...

    Cresford's supposed poor reputation?

I'm interested in NXT but then I did more research on this forum and heard so many bad things about this developer: are they all valid or have they improved since then? Why would reputable fashion houses link up with them if they are so bad? I'm trying to figure out whether or not to take the...
