    VIVA + York Region Transit

Some interesting stuff here, including some service to Gormley GO (albeit as MOR). The mention of the return of the 51 Keswick Local is interesting, as a user on the CPTDB forum noted that it appears the 51 is returning during PM peak as of today. This was not mentioned in the January 7 service...

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but the new Old Elm GO is to open on Tuesday, October 17. Source: big sign at the old station.

    Toronto 1925 Victoria Park | 42.43m | 12s | Well Grounded Real Estate | PARTISANS

I live close to this development. Obviously I'll spend more time looking at when the documents are up, but I'm excited for this. The Rexall was built here maybe around 2010? It was rarely busy, and now Larry the Liquidator is in the same boat. This is a better use of the land for sure.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

A few years ago, during some Line 1 closures (probably 2017?), they operated 32X, 52X, 186X and 196X non-stop branches across the U. Those only lasted for a few closures, so I'm not sure how successful they were.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Quoting from Steve Munro's piece on the 2022 ASP: "The TTC expects that the new route 34 will run every 15 to 20 minutes."

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I'm curious if they plan to turn back some service at Science Centre Station. I remember reading somewhere they wanted headways around 15 minutes during peaks on the new 34, so it is possible they may have service be half-hourly east of Science Centre.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I completely agree that they could (and should), but this is Toronto after all.

Beechborough, which is Castlefield west of Strathnairn has many speed bumps. I guess it was easier to route it via Kincourt and Ingram then have to wrangle with the city over removing them. The short detour to Danesbury is awkward, but it makes sense. The right turn from Roselawn to Marlee on...

Lesser recognized buildings in Toronto that you enjoy

I've always loved the Scarborough location of Native Child and Family Services at Kingston and Galloway.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

The TRCA's Meadoway plan shows a new alignment of the trail north of the current one, with a new bridge being constructed there. Not sure why this one is needed if that is going ahead...

    TTC proposes more express routes

Although we don't know the stopping pattern, I can't see the bus stopping between Royal York and Scarlett. Would it be better to reroute eastbound buses via south on Royal York and east on Lawrence (like the 352 does)? They could still serve common stops at Dixon/Royal York and Lawrence/east of...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Does anyone remember the timeline on the new bus loop that may be built near Palace Pier? If that was built, it would help the route a lot, but it would still require: 1) road alterations on the Gardiner Ramp (apparently there are turning issues?) 2) a looping at the GO Station (I'm not...
