The condo act, board powers, registration, etc..

That really sucks... I can't stand those who kept saying "I have xxx years of experience". People aged, so if you reach certain age, of course you can start counting your "years" but that doesn't means they did good work in those years. Another nonsense.

Hum...... Brookfield Condominium Services. Poor review online. I can't even recommend because ours' is definitely not good as well. I can tell you are a person with kind-hearted and very reasonable. I think you did the right thing start looking into "apprentice", this is great and I'm sure...

Agreed as well, thx for sharing. With that type of judgement within our board members... sometimes it is really unbearable. And just too bad our Act don't protect ourselves from those misjudgment. Except "shaking my heads", there is nothing we can do..

<sigh>... that's why I said I am moving to your building! LOL. Quality of the board members really makes a big different... knowledgeable and professionals like people from this group is really admirable.

Very logical, and agreed. Thx for the reference as well. My board was investigating an issue with water cross-over issue, the plumber was here to check why hot water don't come out right away, but need to wait for it to run for several minutes before it is "hot". They said these type of issue...

anyone with good reference what is consider "emergency" where people from the office can enter our unit without notice? Our board said they can come in anytime if they need contractors to check things. Feel like there is no privacy living in a condo..

I see, very reasonable. Thx for sharing again. The meeting is really important, still don't understand why my condo board refused to sort it out with me to start with.. I'll work on that request. Thx again all for all valuable discussions. Wish you all continue success.

Oh.. one more question, curious why can't you just make the owner pay the legal fee?

Kool, thx again for sharing!! Wondering anyone had good experience with mediation? Wondering if this is a good option to at least get the parties a chance to express their concern face-to-face.

Adding on this.. we have similar issues in our building. The office hired some noise engineer to locate the noise, ends up the unit who created the noise somehow solved the issue, but they never required to pay all the 'inspection' fee.

Agreed. That's crazy, how can 4am noise issue "unfair"? They need to respect others who need to wake up early. In this case, it's 100% confirmed noise is coming from them.. no excuse. My case is not that black and white. You are doing a great job, can't stand those who do not respect others.

Really appreciate DSC and others for the comment, like the fact that people can share different opinion. With respect, this is the first time I am losing respect with the PM and the board. I reached out wish to have a chat, they all refused, I reached out to the management office, they refused...

The condo act, board powers, registration, etc..

I have similar incidents too.. I cannot believe so many people belongs to the "management group" thought they are "king" and control everyone's life... also lack of legal knowledge as well, very disturbing.

The condo act, board powers, registration, etc..

Very logical, I wish our board or PM have the same reasonable and logical mindset, and a good communicator. I will definitely try to have a chat with them (they refused my meeting request once, and mentioned the plumber WO clearly stated the issue and demand me to pay). I already responded to...

Thank you DSC for sharing your insight, very much appreciate. The issue was actually related to some water source that relate to a new technology of faucet. I wish to ask for more details, but was not provided. They originally informed me I can keep the part, just make sure it was closed off...

Hi Ex-Montreal Girl , PinkLucy and other experts, I am new to this blog and nice to hear your experience. I wish my board has someone like you. My board requested me to pay a charge-back, but there are no loss or damages I have caused. The board required me to replace a part inside my unit as...
