As a subtrade, I am concerned.

Where are they going to take deliveries etc?

So is the site non-essential? (No above grade permit)

Wow, so it all comes down to the permit situation!

The construction unions do not want to be working right now. One or more workers on the Eglinton LRT came down with COVID19.

Coronavirus and the impact to the real estate market

There is likely going to be a global recession worse than 2008, so there's no way the real estate market won't be affected. What's going to happen to condo projects that are in the sales phase? If there is a credit crunch, what about projects like The One that might have tenuous financing?

A friend told me the site is officially active again as of today and the halt work order has been removed. Should start to see lots of action on site again!

It's a big deal because it's not normal for a construction project to have an UNEXPECTED stoppage of this length. It will disrupt the Master Schedule and Occupancy Dates. This all means money will be lost.

If this doesn't get resolved soon, it will screw over all the trades, as usual.

Anyone check the site? I'm assuming workers are back to work since Mizrahi said the permit situation would be cleared up by today?

I work in the construction industry. You've mistakenly taken my point as some sort of attack on plumbers. The general average quality of condo construction is low, so I'm taking a shot at all trades, but more importantly, developers. Shitty plumbers often get more contracts because their low...

Considering that most new condo builds are of shoddy quality (ie. plumbing), I'm not sure whether the Province's proposal to let developers self-regulate will worsen the situation or simply keep it at status quo.

    Distillery District

Good god, all that branding. Having just visited Christmas markets in Strasbourg and Marburg, that looks terrible.

what's a reasonable estimate on the ramp being finished?

    Toronto L-Tower | 204.82m | 58s | Cityzen | Daniel Libeskind

I'm more interested in learning about new build condos that DON'T have flooding problems. My hypothesis: Developers go cheap on construction while creating artificial 1-st year condo corp budgets. The shoddy construction is slowly revealed as building problems arise and are validated in each...

    Toronto 80 Bloor Street West | 263.4m | 78s | Krugarand | Arcadis

The bottom of this building definitely disrupts the flow of the tower. Regardless, I'd still take it out for dinner, make sweet love to it, and then ghost it before breakfast.

    Toronto Tower at Pier 27 | 114.9m | 35s | Cityzen | a—A

This tower, specifically its podium, absolutely crowds out the gorgeous existing Pier 27 buildings. What a shame.

    Toronto Yonge at Wellesley Station | 129.2m | 41s | Plaza | BDP Quadrangle

Yes exactly. This is a perfect example of a developer trying to get away with the bare minimum, which we so whole-heartedly accept here in Toronto. The city needs to specifically demand this developer used a brick veneer in place of the spandrel or no approval of any sort. Done. Take a stand...
