    I've been visiting 18 York a fair bit lately, and this view has become one of my favorite in the city. To think that most of the buildings didn't exist a decade back makes you realize how dramatic of a change this city is going through.

    For sure - the Florian is a good example of good pre-cast brick paneling, as is One St. Thomas' "stone" facade. I think those will age well. I was mainly thinking of some of the other developments in the city that haven't been as fortunate.

    Exactly - I think what we just need is some quality precedent in this city (such as what's proposed at Honest Eds). If the market gravitates towards that sort of a development (which I think it will), we will see a lot more of them pop up around the city to simply keep up.

    I find that many older areas of this city exhibit a dominating colour of brick (usually red), as is the case here with grey. The major difference comes down to the fact that those bricks vary slightly in hue because of historical manufacturing processes, smaller suppliers, and variable aging...

    While the towers in this area are of decent quality, Charles St. E is reminding me of a high-rise suburb. Single-use residential structures set far back from a street that sees moderate traffic. Would be nice if they built some smaller structures in between all these podiums.

    ^ Thanks for the update. Even the 2nd proposal completely overwhelms the structures surrounding it. It is unfortunate that this block, in an area dominated by mid-rise towers and small properties built over different periods in Toronto's history, is being developed into 3 high-rise towers...
