The Met (Plaza) - Real Estate -

Looks better than some of the other Plaza buildings I've seen.

    Thoughts about this floor plan?

Personally, I don't like small kitchens or walk-in closets nor large terraces. If I had that unit though, I'd definitely hope that the terrace has a gas line for BBQ. Don't know about the floor plan, but I might be more interested in unit 502 or 508.

Does being Canadian-owned (or perhaps made, if relevant) factor in your choice of shopping?

If the option is there, I do consider Canadian-owned or produced product but it doesn't factor into my decision making as much as other factors such as pricing, value, or quality.

Musée (Plazacorp) - Real Estate -

I like the Hudson palette or the one on the far left. Where were these pictures taken? Were they in a show home unit? Was it delayed? I thought final occupancy was supposed to be sometime Fall 2016.

2.5 Bedroom in Monde, East Bayfront

Layout is not bad, lots of windows but that kitchen is way too small for a 2+D. Grand Piano looks nice sitting in the middle but if you don't have a piano, what would you use that space for?

Why are LED lights so expensive?

I'm not on a condo board nor do I have any prior experience being on one, but that price per bulb sounds ridiculous. People call them 'retrofitting' but it's not, I believe most of the time, it's simply changing out an old incandescent or CFL bulb for an LED one.

    The Weather

    Didn't the snowstorm already end?

    Shadow Flipping

Why would anyone want to buy an assignment at an inflated price from a flipper? Or is it that the buyer's don't know about this and it's only the Realtors that are in it for themselves?

    Condo troubles?

Not sure how helpful it would be, but maybe you could request a Status Certificate which I think costs around $100. It might help you shed light on the general health of the building.

Exposed Concrete... how dusty will it get?

I've never lived in a unit with exposed concrete but I would definitely be worried about potential health hazards with the concrete dust. I know that when properly sealed, it's supposed to cut down on the dust drastically but it's not something I wanted to risk nor deal with the hassle of...

    In-Suite Alarm System

Darn, that's good, I wish I had a system like that in place for my condo.

    In-Suite Alarm System

Does CondoSecure provide monitoring as well? I was under the impression that they sell/install hardware only. Which company are you using and approximately how much is it per month for the intrusion alarm monitoring?

    In-Suite Alarm System

For my previous building, I think I've seen about 5 unit break-in notices and 3-4 locker break-in notices during the 2.5yrs I was there. I remember that on one of the notices, multiple units were broken into within the same day. While I've seen locker break-in notices for my new building, I...

    In-Suite Alarm System

My apologies, I guess I should've been a little more clear. I have 1 heat alarm and 2 smoke alarms which I believe is connected to the entire building and monitored by the concierge. I'm around the mid-level of my condo but no fob is required to access individual floors. I also noticed that...

    In-Suite Alarm System

I've been trying to search for an alarm system for my unit but I haven't been able to find much information online. Does anybody have an active in-suite alarm system that can shed some light onto the companies or systems out there? After browsing through a few company's websites, I'm leaning...

Local at Fort York (Onni Group) - Real Estate -

That's good, hopefully you won't have any more delays. I'm not an expert but last time I walked through the area it looked like they were making good progress but I didn't think it'd be done by June.

SQ2 At Alexandra Park (Tridel) - Real Estate -

Do I dare say that this doesn't look like your typical Tridel building? I think the location is really convenient and would seriously consider a unit but the wait would be too long for me.

Looking for a condo for under $250,000. 1 bed/1 washroom w/ parking prefered.

It's a tough budget to work with, but don't let it deter you. If you are willing to look for a place for around that price point but without a parking and locker, I'm sure that would help expand your options.

What's with all the anxiety in today's youth?

I have no evidence to back up my assumptions or opinions but I would point my finger at the availability and connectivity to all forms of media. Also, I assume parenting methods may have changed and perhaps parents are less attentive of their children's growth and development compared to before...
