    Rob Ford's Toronto

Parent's forcing their children to go out with them isn't child abuse. What a ridiculous statement. They're kids. They don't have the same rights as adults. So long as their parents aren't harming them, they have to do what they're told when they're underage. That includes going places they...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Renata is an adult. She doesn't have to make public appearances, but she has agreed to. Rob's children -- like all children -- are innocent. They don't have the same mental capacity for making informed decisions that grown ups do. Being a young child, what choice did Stephanie have but to...

    Toronto RBC WaterPark Place III | 140.2m | 30s | Oxford Properties | WZMH

That's not true. Many in the suburbs travel far beyond their own neighbourhoods on a daily basis. What about people that live in North York but work in Scarborough? They travel great distances and can't help but notice the ugly apartment towers that are present in each neighbourhood. It's...

What does this have to do with Theatre Park?

    Rob Ford's Toronto

What is "creepy" is your need to bring up his children in this thread. You're done this several times. Leave his kids out of this -- attack Rob all you want -- that is fair game.

    Toronto RBC WaterPark Place III | 140.2m | 30s | Oxford Properties | WZMH

What are you talking about? There are far more people in the suburbs than downtown. More people see the ugly slabs in the suburbs compared to what is in the city core.

Why doesn't it matter as much if mediocre buildings are built in the suburbs? If that attitude persists, than the suburbs will continue to languish architecturally.

2014 Municipal Election: Toronto Mayoral Race

I can't hear/see Soknacki's name without thinking of Oroku Saki (Shredder) from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Public Square and New Park Design in Toronto

Good video. Someone should tweet this to all City Councillors.

They can both be stars. I think the original vision would compliment the Royal Alex very nicely. Speaking of which -- that cheap looking centennial sign on the Royal Alex needs to come down. It's 7 years past that anniversary. It would also be nice to see the main sign replaced with a neon...

Practically everything in this city is subtle, however. We could use a little imagination once in a while. The base will now look as sterile as any other condo's podium. The metal screen behind the glass is what set this apart from any other building in the city. I don't know why developers...

Again, I gotta say I'm pretty upset about the loss of the water feature and the alternative blank glass for the base. The latter would have added so much verve to the ground level. Now we're going to get something much less eyecatching and unique. I just don't understand why that was removed...

Why not just have a waterfall minus the dip in the ground? That would still provide that touch of water, but allow for a more generous space for people to use. I'm also disappointed with the base glass change. I was looking forward to that funky, circular design. I wonder why that was dropped?

Here's a video that helps put this building in context with its surroundings: Any idea on the status of the appeal?
