Just a heads up to lessen the inevitable confusion. If you are getting off at Mississauga Rd or Winston Churchill from 401 WB you will soon need to switch to collectors at the current Mavis exit. This photo was taken in October 2013.

Agree 100%. I like to think of it like the short collector lanes on Highway 400 between Highway 7 and Langstaff (or Gardiner from Kipling to Royal York), however they don't use the words "express" or "collector" over there.

I just had an interesting thought. The westbound exit to Hurontario from the express can also be used as an exit to Mavis. As soon as the tunnel ends there can be an option lane that merges to the collectors. That way the future transfer to Mississauga Rd/Winston Churchill can be moved further...

To add to that, I never understood why the 409 dumps onto BOTH express and collectors instead of collectors only. That would help the express lanes a lot.

It says that it will be 10 lanes between James Snow Pkwy and RR 25. Does that mean no express/collector in this section?
