I agree, the parking entrance on Queen would still need to be maintained, but I think it can be done while pedestrianizing the stretch of Queen St. directly in front of NPS. This is very rough, but the way I imagine it, the pedestrianized zone would start immediately east of the parking entrance...
Looking at those overhead shots, and can't stop noticing how the stretch of Queen from Yonge to York St. should be pedestrianized, with a transit mall for the streetcar of course. You've got NPS, Old City hall, & Eaton Centre all in a row. Existing buildings to the south already got most service...
Now that the Keating Channel isn't the main outflow for the Don, and with the area being converted into residential, I wonder if the city would ever consider allowing it to be lined with houseboats. 🤔
Looking at google street view, looks like the duplexes on either side also have a sold sign on their lawn as of Aug 2021. So potentially including 16, 18, 20, 22 Acacia Rd & 221, 219 Millwood Rd.
Looks as if the architecture here was AI generated. Developers inputted their specifications (massing, height, density etc.) and this is what it spit out
Some valid points. I guess I'm just not ready for the dramatic change this neighbourhood will see in the next ten years. This and the other proposals are going to completely change the character of the neighbourhood. Each time I'm on this side of town I'm reminded of the dense and walkable urban...
Kind of reminds me of this concept as a practical solution to increase density within the yellowbelt: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/art-and-architecture/article-how-to-remake-torontos-old-neighbourhoods-low-but-dense/ - and yet still wouldn't fly under current planning regulations
Big Hit, the kickbox studio in the condo across the street will be closing this month (end of lease) and will reopen in this condo sometime early next year. (assuming this will be done by then)
Any idea when the green roof on top of the shed is supposed to be constructed? This is one of the features I've been looking forward to the most. I hope it hasn't been axed.
120 Ossington Ave - the northwest corner at Ossington and Argyle - also Hullmark.
Seems like Bellwoods Brewery is looking to expand into the building next door (where V de V is currently located)
From yesterday. This one's been slow going recently , but cladding is finally starting to go up. Almost looks like the shipping containers at the Stackt market.
