1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

With size of this site and the available density, I wonder if GG will consider building two shorter towers in the 40s range instead of one 80s? It would cost them less and they could phase the development based on market demands. Not to mention that they have had great success with 35s - 45s...

Could it be for artificial turf?

(Yonge) Dundas Square comes of age - Does it need a new name?

I would hope we could honour Trudeau by naming something like the planned Lake Ontario Park after him. A 1000 acre naturalized park would be a more fitting tribute than a 1 acre concrete pad, for a Prime Minister who truely enjoy the Canadian wilderness.

The marketing folks at City Place are delusional with their comparison to those parks. That said, Toronto does have somewhat comparable parks. High Park, The Islands, and some our Ravine parks come to mind. Although, they're looking pretty shabby these days. We are building some interesting...

    Toronto First Canadian Place Rejuvenation | 298.08m | 72s | Brookfield | MdeAS Architects

There use to be a patio up there. I have always thought they could fit another tower on that corner. The floor plate is larger than that of the Trump tower. Something in the 40s - 60s would be nice.

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

I only have two real concerns about this project. 1) That it gets held up in legal issues and nothing gets built for years. 2) Penequity buying the land. Which would be even worse than Harry buying it.

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

This is starting to sound like a "B" movie. They took their chance. They invested and wanted to build in a foreign city, in a foreign country. It all fell apart. Why. Sabotage? A city clerk delays permits as revenge for being jilted by his x girlfriend, a Kazakhstanian, blue eyed, dark hair...

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

I wouldn't care who developed the site as long as they had a Absolute World style, open competition for the design of the building. The only restriction would be that they would have to use all of the approved density. In other words, 75 storeys + or the equivalent.

Head of Slips (Waterfront Toronto, West 8/DTAH)

peeled pavement I see a homeless person under everyone of these the day after they get built. Which I'm fine with, because it will be better for them than lying on a sewer grate under open sky. We should build these all over.

Head of Slips (Waterfront Toronto, West 8/DTAH)

The wave decks are way safer than a sidewalk on a busy street. There aren't 3ft. high fences between sidewalks and roads. Why? Because a simple three word rule has worked so well for decades. "look both ways". Most kids know their limits regardless of how safe or unsafe something is. If they...

    Toronto Maple Leaf Square | 185.92m | 54s | Lanterra | KPMB

My mistake. I always thought it was 54s and 50s on top of podium.

By my count. North tower still has 8-10s to go and the south tower has 16 - 18s.

The strip along Yonge St. in the second photo seems so out of place. As much as I like parts of the strip, I hope most of it will be redeveloped someday. 6 - 10 Storey retail, commercial, residental mixed use would look great and add some density.

Those look like drainage pipe ditches that will be covered by whatever the surface will end up being in that section of the park.

I amazed at how many surface parking lots there still are in the core. North west corner of Bay and Dundas could use a little improvement as well.

Bay Adelaide Centre West Tower (Brookfield, 50s, WZMH)

I've always thought of 390 as a cheapened down version Eero Saarinen's CBS Building in NYC. I like 390 and the Thomson building, just wish they were both 10 storeys taller to accentuate the vertical a bit more.

    Toronto Canoe Landing Park | ?m | ?s | Concord Adex

If there was a way of creating a pedestrian only connection of this park to Fort York, which could connect to the future June Callwood Park, which would connect to the lake, CNE and Ontario Place, it would create a really nice networks urban parks. Or are these parks only meant for local use and...

    Toronto Pinnacle Centre Condos | 161.84m | 55s | Pinnacle | P + S / IBI

I think the tower is now 56 floors + mechanical. Which would make it around 570 Ft. Would the city planning dept. have this kind of info. Would they share it with the public?

    Transformation AGO (5s, Gehry) COMPLETE

I only saw one bucket with about a liter of water in it. Plenty of condensation though. See attached pictures. My comment about poor workmanship was aimed at the way that some of the detailed finishing was handle. The way the paneling meets the concrete floor. The way the walls meet the floor...
