    Parks - new & revitalized

Nice, those look like BLOC sun benches by Vestre. They're very comfy.

    Toronto Eaton Centre (Ongoing Renewal) | ?m | ?s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

Just came across this super 8 footage of the Eaton Centre from 1983. There's footage of the atrium at around 1:35 that really shows how open it was. 🥲

    Jarvis and Dundas

Yet another coffee shop is opening, along with a pet store that will also offer dog walking, boarding, grooming etc., on Mutual just north of Shuter. This is turning into one highly caffeinated neighbourhood. The old-timey street lamps are an interesting touch.

    St Lawrence Market

Scheffler's has almost completed their move to the previous Whitehouse Meats stall in the middle of the market. It's definitely more spacious and easier to move through.

    The Meadoway, 200ha

Unfortunately I’m hearing it was the actual restored meadow that was mowed, and not by TRCA.

    The Meadoway, 200ha

I’m hearing through the grapevine that a significant section of the Meadoway was mowed down this week. Does anyone have any further information? I’m not seeing any news stories, but maybe it’s too soon.

    Toronto Ookwemin Minising | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I agree with all of the above, but I also think we should make a point of using the Anishinaabemowin word 'Biidaasige' so as not to contribute to further erasure of Indigenous culture and presence on the land.

Do you know if they've also replaced the really tall, skinny birchs currently touching the ground in the centre section of the parkette?

    Jarvis and Dundas

To Go Cafe has replaced POP Coffee/The Anarchist at 190 Jarvis St. They do Asian-style fruit lattes and weird macarons, and their menu is pretty overwhelming! They seem to have a following in the city and will probably do well with the student crowd. Soft open starts day, buy one get one free...

Downtown Grocery Store List (current + proposed)

The Shuter Street No Frills is now open - and they're giving away a gift bag (of mostly junk food!) with a purchase. It's a nice, bright store, currently swarming with staff. Unfortunately there's a big pillar right at the checkout section that makes things awkward. Selection is pretty decent...

Toronto St Lawrence Market North | 25.3m | 5s | City of Toronto | Rogers Stirk Harbour

Just got back from checking it out, some thoughts: Generally the space feels good: not too loud/echoey, aisles are wider, despite the rainy morning it feels bright and airy. Can't wait to see it in the sun. Too much drywall, and it looks ... not great, especially at the top. Was it left...

    Toronto Queen's Park North Revitalization

Here's the Globe article: Big gift from the Westons. Janet Rosenberg is consulting.

    Allan Gardens Revitalization Plan

Friends of Allan Gardens have organized a winter Farmers' Market, held every Saturday until April, from 10am-2pm in the Children's Conservatory. It's well-curated and covers all bases: fresh veggies, including salad greens, from a farm near Stratford, Murray's for meat and eggs, St. John's...

    Toronto 88 North (88 Queen East) | 90.52m | 27s | St Thomas Dev | Arcadis

What is that comparable to downtown, size-wise? Bigger than the Longo's at Dundas and Elizabeth and maybe closer to the Farm Boy on Bay?

Toronto Leslie Lookout Park | CreateTO | CCxA

There were lots of families at the park on Sunday, this is what I observed the kids doing: Building castles etc. in the sand Checking themselves out in the silly-mirror Running around playing tag etc. Checking out the tower Splashing water everywhere Having picnics with their folks Jumping off...

Are these playground features designed by Earthscape? They have a very Earthscape feel to them but the project isn't listed on their website.
