    Toronto 12 Pauline | 15.6m | 4s | Portal | STUDIOWI Inc

Wow, they are really packing in the units here. If I'm reading the architectural plans correctly, residents will have to go through long corridors or else walk below the backside units and between parked cars to get to the stairs going to the upper 3-floor units. I am trying to imagine if that...

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

Plaza lounges are not all closed. I have booked for early July for T1 intl departures and plan to go very early just in case. Hoping it is worth the $.

Thanks for that. It will help for sure!

    Mississauga Lakeview Village | ?m | ?s | Argo Developments | Sasaki

Lots of interesting concepts and pretty renders. But without a robust public transit component and sufficient uptake, this will be a traffic nightmare. I know there are two GO stations not that far away as well as planned transit along Lakeshore, but this being Mississauga, I think you can...

    Toronto Bloor & Dufferin | 122.35m | 37s | Hazelview | Turner Fleischer

No, actually it's currently covered by part of Bloor Collegiate, the part that is furthest west on Bloor. If you imagine Pauline Avenue being extended south of Bloor, then it will be the southwest corner of Bloor & Pauline. I'll try attaching a screenshot of the site plan below.

    Toronto Bloor & Dufferin | 122.35m | 37s | Hazelview | Turner Fleischer

The site plan I have shows Block F as the small separated parcel at the southwest corner of Bloor and the southward extension of Pauline Avenue.

    Confusing highway exit signs

Yes, good point about the second sign I posted. It should have the right arrow bent more to show that the right lane is exiting. I suspect the signage has evolved over time so it isn't always logical.

    Confusing highway exit signs

True, there isn't consistency between the various signs in terms of how lanes are shown.

    Confusing highway exit signs

Interesting. So if I am understanding you, the amber signs on the right of the road can be read in conjunction with the overhead signs, which will have an additional "Exit" amber marking if the exit-only lane has already started. I will keep an eye out for this, as well as the pavement...

    Confusing highway exit signs

The following signage is commonly used at 400 series highway exits to let drivers know which lane they should be in, and the sign seems to indicate that the FARTHEST right lane is exit only, and the next lane over is both exit and straight ahead. But I've noticed that the same sign is also...

    VIA Rail

Interesting to hear everyone's thoughts. I can see the merit of building a bypass, though that would still be a big impact on land ownership, routing, etc, and the removal of the downtown station would be very unfortunate. But a serious rail corridor right through the established city also seems...

    VIA Rail

Do folks in Peterborough understand how the proposed service will impact their city? If I am understanding it, the new VIA service will run on the tracks that go through a very idyllic residential neighbour on the east side of the river (East City), including a very awkward diagonal currently...

Does anyone have an update on which month in 2021 units here will be released?

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

In my experience on the road, rule breaking is across the board. Pedestrians cross anywhere, often stepping in front of cars and bikes staring at their phones. Drivers very routinely break speed limits, do illegal u-turns, fail to stop at stop signs, race through red lights, turn right on red...

Toronto Bloor Collegiate Replacement School | 16.8m | 4s | Toronto District School Board | Snyder Architects

There was a community meeting yesterday about the relocation of Bloor CI to Central Technical School for at least 2 years for the rebuild. Audience was not happy about the way this has played out, the poor communication, and disruption. Bright side is that there will be a brand new school...

Love how these demolition pics show the underlying structure of the building. The beauty of modernism revealed.

    Toronto Bloor & Dufferin | 122.35m | 37s | Hazelview | Turner Fleischer

The big difference to St. James Town is the empty space between towers there, which I know isn't the best urban planning but it does provide some visual relief. Whereas the Bloor/Dufferin plan has "podiums" that are very tall (at what point does it cease to be a podium?) and tight to the...

    Bloor-Yonge Station Capacity Enhancement

Does anyone else remember the station before the platforms on Line 1 were widened to their existing configuration? I remember during construction (1990's, I think?), looking up from the southbound platform and seeing the sky through the temporary openings and massive new beams that allowed the...

What makes you say that? Seems to fit with everything else going on in the neighbourhood.
