Do I spy a phase 2 tower crane footing in progress in the pics above?

^ Exactly this, and also the cutting of the caisson girders.

It has some flattering angles, and provides a nice backdrop to the Dineen Building, but man that glass-on-glass-on-glass courtyard reflection-fest is migraine-inducing.

Loving those views down Harbour Street. Unbelievable transformation in the last five years.

Such an incoherent design. I'm looking forward to the day this gets hidden from most angles, but I suppose some poor souls will then have a view of it out of their windows.

^ There is more jackhammering this time as they are progressively chipping away at the concrete caisson wall from the previous phase shoring, but they did have to hammer their way through the same slate rock last time on the lower floors. The lake-fill only goes down a couple of storeys.

I'm not sure if you're referring to just the particular colours used here, but in colour theory, red and green are perfect complementary colours. Just like blue and orange, or anything on opposite sides of the colour wheel.

What are "enviable trenches"? Was that supposed to say "tranches?"

Those fins make all the difference. It's a shame they won't extend around the entire podium.

I probably should have clarified in the previous post, but the uncovered footings I was referring to are the small cluster of objects on the bottom right of the picture (the south side of the site), not the revealed caissons near the top of the picture (the east side of the site).

New ramp on north side and some freshly uncovered old footings on the south side.

^ They probably calculated they would make more money from sections of the lot remaining running as a public parking lot, than the cost of an extra caisson wall (and its subsequent removal).
