    Rogers Centre Renovations

Could float it. City support for the "giant rubber ducky” 🦆baseball stadium nets them half a $billion or so from proponent, which finances a chunk of rail deck park (and new garbage cans). ArchDaily ArchDaily

Canada Square potential re-development (@Duplex, Oxford, ?s, Pelli Clarke Pelli)

Anyone else getting a bit of First Capital's Humber Bay/Christie vibe? Minus the lake.

    Toronto | The United BLDG | 179.52m | 52s | Davpart | B+H

Just a little screenshot of The United BLDG location (just left of 488 University) from my future render looking east.

Or a portion of the barge may need to slide under #1 after rotation (sunken a bit less perhaps).

    Toronto | The One | 308.6m | 85s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

I posted these on another forum and after a second look... starting scratching my head. At first glance I thought we were just seeing the addition of a horizontal trim element splitting the smaller top volume (6 floors)... but the render above of the top volume offers more floors and 2 sets of...

Most of the public realm preliminary design ideas are great. The only quibble is the "rolled curb" between cyclists and pedestrians which I think invites bike vs.strolling collisions (via last second pedalling detours ;)).

Steel. I posted this earlier (page link below) about Walters (The One) landing this job. https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threads/toronto-160-front-west-239-87m-46s-cadillac-fairview-as-gg.17751/page-109

Great shots Red Planet. I initially thought the patchiness of the pre-cast brick was just an optical quirk seen in long shots, but close-ups are indeed .. patchy. Is this the masonary equalivent of the ROM "Crystal" mis-match cladding curse?

    Toronto | YSL Residences - Yonge Street Living (383 Yonge) | 299m | 85s | Cresford | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Don't want to jinx the office proposals on the table, but of course the stump was commercial and YSL is for Living.

^^ So let's go with the "Accelerated Option" (rebuild)... so Calatrava can oversee both his Portlands bridges ... the 2nd being his south hybrid cable-stayed beauty (with swing portion) linking to the Island(s). :)

    Toronto | Grand Hotel Redevelopment | 160.8m | 50s | Amexon | Core Architects

I'm assuming there is a lane-way between this gorgeous mural and the new development so I think it at least deserves way-finding signage beside the side-walk, and a crossing-guard to stop vehicle deliveries during the pedestrian "viewing hour". Pray no-one tags the mural once it's hidden.

Thx... I was just looking looking at the Phase 2 drawings for Cherry South and Commissioners. There's also the Lakeshore rail bridge "modifications". Wonder if that means re-conditioned/altered, or might there be a new design element...? EDIT: BTW for those who haven't seen it, there's a...

    Toronto | Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

It will be interesting to see how many of these instant icons will grace the Portlands when the future plays out. I know there are four in the present plans (including the longer twin span which should be a stunner)... early plans suggested a half-dozen or so. I'm ok with 5 total (just so...

^ That seems logical, unless the 2nd barge needs to be sunk a bit after bridge rotation... to slide under the 1st bridge. kotsy

Forgive me but I think you're confused... "shingles" are blisters or rashes but they don't look like actual shingles (like the white ones on One Delisle's crown).

That's quite the optical illusion the way the struts looking like little more than cables when viewing the bridge square to camera.

One bit of nice crown detailing that I missed when first viewing the new render, are the staggered rectangular panels. A little clearer in this screenshot. https://onedelisle.com/en

Have to agree.. and of course there's still a crown. I'll miss the stretched hexagons but this remains an outstanding design. Just pray for great materials/execution and it will be a landmark.

The Esplanade Assembly | Allied REIT

Save most of the depth of the Front Street heritage buildings and build behind... 7 St. Thomas-ish would make a decent podium but I'd add a tower on the western portion of the site (we're trading some shadowing for a masterpiece ;-). Unfortunately Google's lame-ass algorithm for Calatrava won't...
