    VIA Rail

I have been shipping via CP Rail (Toronto to Vancouver) all throughout the blockades with no issue. Only thing has been the derailment in Saskatchewan last weekend.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

What. The problem in Port Credit (and Clarkson) is the exact opposite. There are not enough crossings for pedestrians, hence the high rate of track intrusion in the area.

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

Seattle to Vancouver (230 km downtown to downtown) is also much farther than Buffalo to Toronto (160 km downtown to downtown)

Really? I think if Jozy was able to start - we would have won.

360 Oakville Place (Hood Development Corp, 6s, ?)

There is another building under construction in this stretch, which is the new HQ for Innovative Food (Teriyaki Experience / Chopped Leaf) ... which is the one with the green glazing beside Soccer World.

    Toronto | OpArt Lofts | ?m | 10s | Neilas | Teeple Architects

Town of Oakville closed Shepherd road this week to do an engineering review of the shoring at this pit. Traffic and bus route is diverting around it. Expected to last until March 2020. Sounds like after 5(?) years of being there, it may not be structurally sound.

Just watched this one out in BC. WTF! We definitely did not deserve that tie. But the Gods were shining on us this day.

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

And to be fair, Lakeshore West/East all stop trains are already run as a through service. It simply is not marketed that way.

Dump truck free time on DVP and QEW?

Also - if we restrict the number of building permits to "build faster", then we will restrict supply and increase prices overall of construction end product. Simple as that. Secondly, no one has proved that there are hundreds of empty construction sites around - where we are going so slowly or...

Dump truck free time on DVP and QEW?

If you are worried about dump truck damage to roads and weight per axle limits, then you need to talk to the MTO. They are responsible for regulation and enforcement - hence weigh stations for trucks. There was actually a dump truck protest on the 401 weigh stations in Milton last year (or...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

OK, and? The situation is the situation. You cannot deal with the current situation with coulda, woulda, shouldas about bidding processes. Again, this is a hypothetical that has no bearing on the current contract or situation. So you are OK with canceling an order in mid delivery and...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

For the TTC / the public, canceling the contract is simply bad management. 1) It puts the TTC in breach of contract, and arbitration / courts could punish them with damages awarded to Bombardier. 2) it would delay delivery of more streetcars 3) newly tendered streetcars will be at a premium...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

The fact that people think the damages incurred by the TTC on this contract as somehow so bad that we should retender the contract and pay up to 40% more for a different supplier's streetcars, which we will receive even later than Bombardier, is hilarious. Absolutely idiotic idea. I also think...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Let's hope we are not still talking about this in 2026 when we are hosting the World Cup ...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

More excuses! So first of all, the project that was originally reported as "completed" (by AMA) is actually not complete, as the elevator is not even commissioned. Secondly, they feel that what they designed, built, and presumably paid for is NOT ADEQUATE!?! The tunnel has been inadequate...

    Discontinuous streets

Yes. The high level bridge is Bayview Avenue. Leslie and Lawrence intersect at the same grade level.

    Emergency Alert System

The system is a joke. Getting Amber Alerts for Thunder Bay down in Southern Ontario is just ludicrous.

    GO Transit Electrification (Metrolinx, Proposed)

Plenty of people already seem to be getting on at Mimico and Long Branch in order to get to Exhibition and Union Station. And that's with only 1/2 hour service at those stations. The potential is there if the fare system is structured differently and the frequency goes up.
