    Hurontario LRT | Metrolinx

i actually quite like the stop spacing overall on this line, i find that most of the toronto lrts have unnessecary midblock stops. but kingsbridge/elia def justifies a stop, the eglinton stop should have been moved to the north side of eglinton.

    Hurontario LRT | Metrolinx

ridership along these proposed routes wont justify rail for decades, not worth losing some of the gr8 brt flexibility for

Ontario Line (was Relief Line South, in Design)

if any line should be immune to value-engineering, it is this one. i really wish we could save the lines that experiment with technology for the suburbs and just do what we know works for the relief line.

    Hurontario LRT | Metrolinx

missing link would be a far better investment for the western gta than any line 2 extension. since it now appears that it isn't happening I am open to a subway extension into mississauga but it would be such a shame tunneling right beside a rail corridor

    Transit Fantasy Maps

i am open to new subway lines in standard gauge but leave the existing ones alone there a very few places where they could feasibly be interlined with mainline tracks. even where possible it would be a mess with transport canada and with the timing unless freight is only allowed at night as is...

    Mississauga Dundas Transportation Master Plan

urban design along viva corridors is really good as are the actual viva stations and rapidways. problem is wide roads with 2 stage crossings and 80 kph speeds and deep setbacks. ruins any attempt at an urban feel. dundas is much more narrow and not flanked by open space so the same problem...

    Toronto | Square One Expansions and Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Oxford Properties | MMC Architecture

my dream would be something at hurontario and rathburn incorporated into a private development (office or residential) on top. Since the crossing of the streets is not at grade, the upper (hurontario) level could host inter-city buses and LRT connection (instead of the diversion currently...

    Crosstown LRT | Metrolinx

its not nearly as confusing as qq with the driveway entrances and streetcar tracks on the side of the road. we rarely see cars drive into the portals at spadina and saint clair west for a reason.

TTC: St. Clair Streetcar Right Of Way

i feel like alot of these streets would be better served by bus lanes and signal priority instead

Hamilton LRT (Metrolinx/City of Hamilton, Cancelled)

the opening of the ion makes me quite optimistic about hamilton finch and hurontario. ion has so many curves but runs at a more than acceptable pace on straight on-street sections, the other corridors wont have nearly as many sharp turns. only thing that worries me about finch west is the...

Dundas St Rapid Transit (Metrolinx, Mississauga, Halton Region, CoT)

i actually like the idea of brt on dundas from 427 where i think the subway should end. no single route is gonna travel all 40 km, but there would be a variety of services starting and ending at various points on or near the corridor. I would prefer to see an Ottawa-style grade separated busway...

Ion Light Rail (Kitchener-Waterloo) & King/Victoria Transit Terminal

also note that they rarely have to cross other streetcar lines which is super common in toronto

    Transit Fantasy Maps

also add if brt were built in the 80s or 90s in finch hydro corridor it would attract a degree of intensification and riders from connecting busses which would eventually justify lrt conversion, ottawa's transitways should be given more credit for some of the higher density developments...

Ion Light Rail (Kitchener-Waterloo) & King/Victoria Transit Terminal

the greatest problem present in surface lrt lines is lack of speed. imo there are 3 things contributing to it in this case, 2 of which can be fixed: - signal priority was there for sure but it would often activate after the lrv either already stopped or began to slow down siginificantly. idk...

    Transit Fantasy Maps

brt is so op in the suburbs. living in ottawa right now and i love the way land is reserved for future transitways in their new subdivisions. brt is basically a cheap subway with more flexibility and less capacity so its perfect for the sparsely populated suburbs. imo finch hydro corridor brt...

Ontario Line (was Relief Line South, in Design)

if the line had gone west on king in the first place it could form a potential union relief station at liberty village and at sunnyside in the west

    Metrolinx: Finch West LRT

even the ion lrt platforms are long enough for 2 car sets (i know theyre the shorter flexities but still) why are the lines inside the city the victim of halfassery despite the fact that people will actually use them in large numbers from day 1. if and when this line gets extended east and west...

    Ottawa Transit Developments

has anyone considered using prince of wales as a brt bridge as is the case on the other old rail bridge further north in gatineau, that would allow brt service north along the rapibus and west into aylmer to cross over and connect directly to both o-train lines at bayview. lrt in gatineau...

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

couldnt the same thing be eventually achieved with the relief line west along king or queen, and a transfer to the wwlrt at sunnyside
