A couple of quick pics from this morning. They’ve taken down most of the forms and the pointed mechanical box is now very apparent. From the renders, I’m not clear if it will be clad in clear or smoked glass.

Sure, but they didn't give you extra space in the living room. They just ripped you off on space in general. A bedroom is also where I dress myself, make my bed, and keep my clothes and luggage, among other personal items. I'm not even sure there's sufficient room in these layouts to get out...

I definitely hoped for a more black-brown brick than yet more grey. But I still think this development will end up looking nice overall. EDIT: I walked by on Wednesday morning and the brick panels are very badly aligned (I don't know if this is a part of the process and they will be adjusted...

Hey Koops. I really like your renders, but I wonder if you’d consider adding an arrow pointing at the subject project in future? I know the developments pretty well, but I still find it difficult to pick out the right building, in particular when there are many other proposed or U/C buildings...

The beaux arts mansion is conspicuously absent in the new render, which is clearly an intentional change ... :( OLD: NEW:

I'm not 100% sure when this happened, but it looks like the developer has changed the colour scheme in the latest architectural plans to black / bronze aluminum cladding. I like it.

What a disgusting morning it was. However, you can see they are now installing what I imagine is the structure to hold the crazy cladding for the underside of the building!

This is pure speculation about leases and contracts and penalties and deadlines that we know absolutely nothing about. I'm not sure how posts like this are useful in any way.

I'm not sure how the balconies would ruin it. They will be the exact same as the curtainwall in terms of the smoked glass and height and probably frameless judging from RC3. If anything, they will make the design more apparent.

What a lovely corporate office park. They should all be located on a lakeshore.

That poor heritage building was just minding its own business and had this sh*t dumped on top of it. Every time a new element goes on I think, "surely this will fix things", and then they somehow become much worse. 🤢

Ugly, overwhelming tower that ruins the heritage building by overalteration. Why don't we just do away with the idea that this is a historical district.

    DEAD? Wellington House | 57m | 17s | Lamb Development | architectsAlliance

I don't know the entire background of this development or the court proceedings (only what I have read on this forum), but my take of the letter is, in summary: -- The Lenders loaned money to the Borrower, Wellington House Inc. (the corporation created to develop the building) -- At some...

They’re setting the forms to pour the ceiling of the penthouse floor, then I imagine it will be just steel framing for the mechanical / amenities box on top? There is curtainwall on almost every side now. Window wall installation is progressing up to the fourth or fifth floor. The lobby is...

    Toronto | West Don Lands: Block 3, 4 & 7 | 49m | 13s | Dream | COBE Architects

Was interesting and very well attended. I’d say 70-80 people were there, many from the buildings on Mill Street. The comments ranged quite a bit. Lots of praise for affordable housing, but some concerns regarding the height and density on the south side. Some concerns about the proposed...

There are a million options that are limited only by a narrow imagination. A smaller hotel, cantilevering, facade preservation (much as people may not like it), moving the buildings elsewhere, and using the building as part of the proposal easily come to mind.
