    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

They could have had them if they didn't retire the older busses so soon. As for storage, they could have put the old busses at CNE loop and at subway stations with bus platforms. If they get vandalized or damaged, the TTC could have just retired them at no incremental cost.

Somone could blockade all roads into the Mohawk until they leave the tracks.

That doesn't say very much, the stop announcements aren't working and the device keeps rebooting (fun fact, the devices run on x86).

Anyone know what's up with the VISION system today?

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

The amounts that Accenture charges to make modifications to presto would make your head spin.

3 times a week, taking this semester off though. Edit: apparently, I personally made up approximately 0.015% of all rail passenger traffic to southwestern Ontario last year.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the entire presto system gets moved over to FareGo when the operating contract for Presto gets retendered.

Found this really cool analysis of the Toronto-Kitchener Corridor: http://biblos.hec.ca/biblio/memoires/m2019a612945.pdf

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Based on what I remember, the fare gates SSRMs and TVMs all run FareGO on the devices themselves and use FareGO to interface with the PRESTO Central System. The vehicle readers run FareGO, but the TTC has a customized version to support the legacy transfer system. But, with the TTC and...

Same here (I commute to London, ON), but any grocery store in Union would probably be way overpriced. It's probably less expensive just to hop on the subway up to College park where there's a Sobeys, Metro, and Loblaws.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Employee morale and the work culture at the TTC really isn't that great, leading many employees just not to care.

I think GO would rather have passengers pickup groceries at their destination station rather than have groceries taking up space on a rush hour train.

    VIA Rail

Honestly, I'm surprised about how low the per passenger subsidy is in Southwestern Ontario given that the fares are lower for a similar distance traveled (Toronto to London/Kingston), how the load factor falls significantly after London station (for trains continuing to Windsor), and the number...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

The station managers supervise station collectors, CSAs, provide emergency response, and retrieve fallen objects from track level. Doing rounds is a secondary role.

It's such a waste of taxpayer money, the city is literally fining itself. The only winners are the lawyers. The city should just plead guilty, pay itself the fine and move on instead of wasting court time and legal fees.

The promo booth is probably the most profitable (on a per sq ft basis) tenant when it's in use.
