    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

I like it. The new PRESTO and Metrolinx branding looks good and there's no confusion whatsoever on where to tap. Effortless, intuitive design.

Most people don't care. This doesn't affect anyone but the investors, the rich buyers, the signed retail tenants and architecture nerds.

    Toronto Hilton Renovation

Yup. I’ve never once felt compelled to go inside and I’ve been walking by it for 20 years. Photos: Google Maps / Trip Advisor

I’m going to make a push for my living wall idea. 5 years of construction is going to be painful if this is going to be a typical construction zone lined with ugly dark hoardings plastered in layers of old posters. A living wall fits the theme of the development perfectly and would soften the...

    Toronto | CAMH Queen Street Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | CAMH | KPMB

Too bad this wasn't done on the Queen St. side. I've got no problem with buildings deeper into the complex being more utilitarian but Queen Street is CAMH's face to the city and they built a bunch of generic brick buildings. I'm pleasantly surprised by this latest building but at the same time...

I like the wall. I think it adds character. The current issue is that it's just a wall with nothing visible over it and at the opening of the wall, it's just an ugly driveway. Add a beautiful building visible over the wall and a landscaped entrance, and it completely changes the character of the...

    Toronto | OCAD U: 100 McCaul | ?m | ?s | OCADU | Diamond Schmitt

Yes, it's the elevator core. But it's an opportunity to do something interesting like a glass clad elevator shaft. That said, they're probably just taking cues from the AGO next door which also has blank walls facing McCaul.

I'm ok with this. Far better than the south building under the tabletop. Also, it looks like they're doing a nice cleanup of the original building, replacing the brick and windows and removing the clutter on the sidewalk.

Oh thank the lord! I've been waiting years to see this shack torn down. Not only was it ugly, but with their impending closing, Spice Route didn't care to follow rules anymore. They had installed large speakers on their patio, blasting music at all hours. They knew that the complaint process...

Actually, do share please. I'm sure many of us would like to see how much worse it could've been. Put in perspective, as bad as this is now, it could've been much worse. I don't think this building is going anywhere given the complexities of ownership, the long lease for the theatres and the...

    Toronto | The One | 309m | 85s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

It'll get built. There's way too much money on the line and demand for condos in Toronto is not going to go away, certainly not at this desirable location. Mizrahi could totally fall apart but those who've invested would scramble together to recoup their money and the only way that happens is by...

Finally! Raptor has always been a troll. I’ve had him on my ignore list for months but he insisted on trolling me and other users with angry or laughing faces on all of our posts. Apple doesn’t always keep their upcoming flagships secret, specially when it’s inevitable that confirming...

Yonge-Dundas Square (Brown + Storey Architects)

Thanks for sharing your experience. As a white straight 6 ft tall dude, I've never really felt unsafe there, just annoyed. I can absolutely see that a gay couple walking by religious preachers or a woman walking by the misogynist preacher who insists that "women's place is in the home, serving...

Yonge-Dundas Square (Brown + Storey Architects)

Good summary. I’m in a bit from door number 1 and a little from door number 2. I like the organic way in which Yonge Street has assembled and I like that it’s in Toronto’s spine where every type, rich and poor, every race and creed, every culture, every type of Torontonian bumps into one...

Yonge-Dundas Square (Brown + Storey Architects)

Kevin Frankish moved into the area and just found out about “street yellers”. I don’t know about dangerous, but they’re definitely a nuisance and to me, annoying as hell. Kristyn Wong Tam is in the thread detailing some changes to the area and police have commented as well talking about an...

So, like my building: sold out, but empty. I've lived in a building across from KING's site for 7 years. No more than 4-5 units have ever been occupied on my floor with 12 units. Some floors are completely unoccupied. While I don't mind it myself as a resident, it really kills the potential of...

10 Dundas East (former Toronto Life Square, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

Panasonic had the rights to the screen. Perhaps that came with naming rights. Eventually, they did sell the naming rights to Toronto Life but once it became obvious what a heap of trash this building was becoming, St. Joseph Media wanted nothing to do with it, and certainly didn't want its...

10 Dundas East (former Toronto Life Square, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

I didn't base my knowledge of the project on just renderings. There were at the time details, both from published sources and info garnered from discussions with my contacts at a firm that was producing the technical drawings for PenEquity. Disney wanted to build a theme park, and while the...

10 Dundas East (former Toronto Life Square, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

My memory didn’t fail me. I pulled out my archives and there it is : This was the earliest rendering when Disney was still involved. It shows the crane-like ride atop the cylindrical structure. After this rendering, there was one from a head on perspective where you could see Disney’s mouse...
