Same as this morning... luckily the weather was nice enough to bike my son to school. Though looking at their twitter, there wasn't actually a line shutdown. Hope your daughter made it home safe!
They don't. They canceled it when they (the Biden government, but post-election) recognized him as the legitimate president of Syria.

LOL. I just pulled up google streetview to take a look at that corner and it looks like the google van with the camera on top couldn't fit under the subway bridge? There is streetview on either side of the bridge, but you can't "walk" under it, either on Keele or Indian Grove.
I'm pretty sure anybody paying attention to the news in even the smallest way was aware that this guy became the President of Syria in December/January when his forces toppled Assad's government. It was quite controversial at the time whether Western governments would recognize him, but they all...
Maybe. But you've sent me down a rabbit hole, and I think it's earlier than that. There was a cop car that had a megaphone and two siren lights on its roof. This website suggests the NYPD used that until the mid 1970s, after it was replaced by a bar of lights across the top...
I saw Toronto St converted to a 1960sish NYC scene today. A facebook group speculates that it's this.

It's always nice to have good role models.

Another 504 closure coming up. As someone who relies on the 504 to get to work every day, it hasn't been very reliable for the last little while!

Well, they're holding a park hostage, and the city has said it won't use the only leverage it has (making them leave). So the city keeps offering them housing options, they keep saying it doesn't meet their needs, and a year and a half passes with nothing accomplished.
This is probably the demand of the person quoted in an article who said they had been offered a supportive housing unit, but preferred not to take it because they didn't want to be subject to "surveillance" by the City. They prefer living in the park.
Supportive housing is typically smaller bachelor apartments. Even a one bedroom supported unit would almost never be 800sf or bigger. And there's fairly good reason for that.
They can clinch a playoff spot tonight if they win and some other stars align. But of course, what is important is clinching that first round bye so that they don't go out in three games (and so the bullpen is well-rested for the next series)...
It's funny re-reading that article 5.5 years later with knowledge of everything that's gone on with Eglinton and Metrolinx. What a culture of absolute refusal to be transparent and accountable to the public.
The only Schabas I know is Justice Paul Schabas, who forbade Ford from tearing up bike lanes :)
But this is the Michael Schabas:

Even the places where they can drive on the paved surfaces, they often don't stay on the path and cause rutting and mud puddles on the sides of the pavement. Great for six year olds just learning to "off road" on their bike, but demonstrates that they really don't care about maintaining the park.
It's good, but you should also check out the new west end location of Beach Hill Smokehouse. I haven't been to that one, but the east end one was really good.
A pretty even handed look by the Globe, from someone who’s obviously on the same neighbourhood listserv as I am.

And on twitter, Dan Seljak makes the good point that if there’s a bunch of bylaw...
