This has double the # of units of duke up the street with a similar footprint.. and they're supposedly 2 stories? Am I missing something here? Anyway, looking forward to adding to the absolute shit show that is the dundas-dupont-annette and keele-dundas intersections. Time to go full mad max.

The section where they're doing this is at-grade, it's essentially a cut and cover project. I don't see what the point would be in covering the gardiner. Theoretically I guess it would create greenspace but with a functioning highway with so many onramps downtown it would both be very noisy and...

I agree that traffic is a real problem at that site. We'll see what they come up with as a solution. Major issue being it's sandwiched between the intersection at bloor and dundas with high traffic including streetcars, buses and pedestrians, and the bizarre dundas/roncesvalles intersection, and...

Too bad these developers didn't buy up some of the massive single family lots on High Park Ave, and demolish those mansions instead. If they did that I'd be 100% behind this development.

This is a real cheap hack job and an embarassement to that beautiful bridge.

What do you think they are intended to do? The way rent control works in Ontario is not to surpress prices. It is, like the poster above you noted, to enhance security of tenor. It's a social good to stop people from getting priced out of their homes unexpectedly.

Most rentals in the city were built when the government provided huge incentives to developers to build them. They stopped building them when the government stopped giving away money to them. 2 or 3 new rental developments in a city with hundreds of developments a year is hardly a trend.

The government has always controlled markets.

Looks like the retail is trying to dominate the TTC station. Should be the other way around imo. Very generic contemporary design as well.

IMO, the massing looks great, but this building will look very dated very quickly. The black and white colour scheme, personally makes me puke. I am at least actually grateful they widened the sidewalk. As for the "one unit ground floor retail" how is it that you know this? And what is it...

So what is the plan for controlling traffic through this diagnal street? Because some speed bumps and making it one way is not gonna cut it. Neither is restricting turning during certain times, because drivers regularly ignore those. Seems like poor planning to me.
