Looks good to my eye. A bit more spandrel panels than I'd like. I don't really understand developers aversion to simple metal panels matching the surrounds covering the concrete beneath. It looks far better than faux-windows

Windows continue to be installed on the podium on multiple sides and floor forms for floor 10 being installed on the southeast edge of the site, nearly 1/3 of the way up:

For sure. It likely means full-scale utility relocation can occur as soon as possible as a separate contract, which gives me hope of a 2025 start because that's pretty simple. Since the design is "locked" in terms of where it will actually be in the ROW they can do the finalizing engineering...

So unfortunate. The prior council allowed this silliness. Such an unfortunate silent gem to lose. I was hoping to at least see the interior at some point, but in 2022 when it was supposed to be open to the public, it was last minute cancelled. Really sad about this, was looking forward to one...

The city has really got to do a better job of ensuring that developers secure their site. It's ridiculous that this keeps happening to heritage properties.

From what I understand this should be quick. Three big reasons for that; 1) The project is being split into multiple smaller contracts, and so some work can likely get started very quickly. 2) My understanding is that most of the design work was done in-house, meaning that there's limited...

That is a great question that I don't know the answer to. Based on my very limited understanding of waterproofing, I would suspect it is some type of waterproof layered membrane designed to being water to the edges to be brought to somewhere else.

This is a really interesting project to me. If it can be replicated (perhaps at 3 storeys and fewer parking spots) it could really be a model for market-driven more affordable housing. Our local leaders would do well do look at this type of project and look for ways to encourage and support it...

    Burlington Transit - Catch-all

One of the biggest issues with BT from my time living there was the ungodly number of stops and terrible stop spacing. BT should do a review to determine the least used stops in the city and try to remove a few to speed up the bus to make it slightly more efficient. As it stands, it's still...
