    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Oddly enough, Spadina thru King has had a white bar on its transit signal as long as Google Maps street view goes back (2007). I’ve only noticed it occasionally being used for thru movements in the past year.

    Toronto Ontario Line: Exhibition Station | ?m | 2s | Metrolinx | HDR

Hmm, I figured this meant the new bridge/concourse may open for public passage before it’s complete. I can’t see any reason to demolish the temple bridge any sooner. Now looking at some of your previous drone shots, I’m seeing the biggest crane on rails would pass right through the space where...

    Toronto Ontario Line: Exhibition Station | ?m | 2s | Metrolinx | HDR

Unless there was suddenly a change of plans, the temporary bridge isn’t being removed until the new station bridge is open. The new station is far to the east of the temporary bridge, they are on opposing sides of Atlantic ave.

Yep, glass in your shot reaches 77-78 and the band will go across 81.

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

I just watched this video reposted by Oh The Urbanity! on YouTube. It’s a good look at abstract components of Montreal’s REM. Final product aside (for all its shortcomings), the contracts and public policy choices to help develop and deliver this massive project with such haste makes for an...

Toronto Ontario Line: Don Valley Station (was Science Centre Station) | 22.8m | 3s | Metrolinx | HDR

Cool! This would appear to be for the tail tracks as the station doesn’t reach this side of the Loblaws driveway. Pretty sure you’re looking at the green filter fabric on the fence. It is funny looking how it falls off to the left.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

This isn’t a sound wall, this is a T-wall / retaining wall. The trains run above these walls so locomotive sounds are diffracting right over the walls to your position. The sound walls (if built) go above these walls. General idea is roughly captured by this diagram (source). Not saying...

    Mississauga Mississauga Transitway | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | IBI Group

Looks ridiculously expensive to me. When compared to what could be accomplished at grade, the benefits of going underground look limited. Also, if anything should be separated from traffic it’s the LRT. So my brain hurts thinking about the addition of a level crossing at Hammerson drive, where...

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

Though I appreciate the benefits, I suspect the scope of a first phase would be limited to Park Lawn. Reaching HBS has great benefits and could be procured as one or two relatively straightforward contracts. I think anything beyond will take a lot more consultation, and be a lot more...

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

The Park Lawn GO station will surely be built before an Ontario Line extension is considered. The current station design reserves room for two future tracks on the North side of the existing 4 tracks. A good reference here: Since there is no room for two additional GO tracks through...

I’m impressed how much merchandise they’ve stuffed in this tiny unit!

Toronto East Harbour GO and Ontario Line Station | 14.35m | 1s | Metrolinx

Well, we really don’t know anything about this station. Metrolinx doesn’t even know. I truly don’t know or care what is delivered here. But compared to this post’s wishful thinking delusion, the fins are at least an example of cosmetics that could realistically be applied after the fact, so CF...

Toronto East Harbour GO and Ontario Line Station | 14.35m | 1s | Metrolinx

As promised, a few shoddy screenshots of the 3D model: As I mentioned previously, lots of similarities to other stations with the butterfly roof and vertical fins. See: Flemingdon Park Station Render, Riverside-Leslieville Station Render

Toronto East Harbour GO and Ontario Line Station | 14.35m | 1s | Metrolinx

According to submitted architectural docs and 3D models, the OL station part of East Harbour is actually meant to look very similar to the other above-ground OL stations, If you can’t access them I’ll upload a screenshot or two of the 3D model from my computer when I’m home tonight.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Toronto East Harbour GO and Ontario Line Station | 14.35m | 1s | Metrolinx

The architectural documents are much less subject to change when it’s already well under construction. At best we can hope for purely cosmetic additions, maybe some nice big trees in the plaza outside. Also Metrolinx isn’t involved with the delivery of East Harbour.

    Toronto Aqualuna at Bayside | 61.87m | 18s | Tridel | 3XN

Someone showed me this on Tik Tok and I asked them for a screenshot: It’s a real shame to see cardinal sins like this even in such a beautifully architected building.

Surely that bus should be stopping in the bay back there, no?
