It's no Eglington Station Cinnabon, but I could do a cornetto and a boba!

Nary a print in the snow... Imagine trying to make a timelape video of this project! 😅

Wow, that's a doozy. I'm confused by the no-cycling signs at the east/west ends of the waterfront portion. Does that mean people on foot can walk in? Obviously if the bridge is closed you can't cross the Rouge River, but I don't see why they would specifically ban bikes only from the trail...

I've been using the now open Cedarvale station parts to access Line 1 trains of late and have some thoughts, as we wait for Line 5 to open. Tick tock! - The tunnels to either side of the Allen and across Eglinton to the south are useful, but convoluted in design and feel VERY empty. Lots of...

I can't see how the city will ever get off its keester to finish the EglintonToday bike lanes. The excuse for not doing it this year when they repaved the roadway was that "there are too many buses until Line 5 opens!" If buses and bike lanes can't coexist (amazingly they do on many other...

Isn't it just an accessible loading area? They have those at various points on Bloor, etc., in addition to the ones for TTC stops.

Yes, those are great. I was going to mention that design as well, but my post was long enough! Not just for strollers but grocery carts, and delivery hand-carts as well. I feel like those are somewhat more common in Eastern Europe, but I haven't looked too deeply.

Really good, concise and detailed as always by Jun! I agree with his assessment of the hit/miss Finch bike lanes. They are sort of protected, but not really, and have multiple spots where they just become sidewalk or a messed up MUP with no paint markings. The construction pylons and debris have...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

A tragedy on Montreal's REM line in the wee hours this morning, during the non-passenger service period. Three young men were hit on the tracks, with two dying of their injuries. Early reports suggest they crossed a highway and hopped a fence before crossing the REM tracks, when a train...

Hey, I was referring to it's depiction on the map, as a nub with no terminal station or any other info.

I think at least having an indication of a terminal stop would be useful, but what do I know!

Why is Line 6 so dinky? And goes... nowhere?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Definitely not the worst. This actually looks a bit like the design at the "Mid Humber Gap" staircase that you need to take to connect the Humber Trail around Scarlett & Weston Rd. I wonder if they had the same contractor/designer. I like that it's on both sides. I don't love the lack of any...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

It's too bad they way they do runnels in this town, they always place them way over at one side, which means you have to kind of lean your bike out from the railing to make it work. I think for many wider or bulkier loads they won't work at all. I've seen other countries do it differently...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I hit that one when I did my ride through a few weeks back, though it wasn't as bad. I should have more specifically flagged it. Thanks for mentioning and hopefully it will be dealt with.

Haha, I posted too soon! How come you can upload photos but I can't? I must have enraged the UT gods.

I'm surprised no one has been posting about the EXCITING new opening of Cedarvale today (sans Line 5 access). I saw a few influencer types out there trying to make the empty, white, hospital-looking tunnels look interesting. Clearly they didn't blow the bank on design that honours the art and...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Not sure if this is news, but in addition to the renaming of Eglinton West to Cedarvale Station, they are opening the "new" Line 5 entrances to permit underground crossing starting this Sunday. I think this will mark the first time any Line 5 station facilities will have been open to members of...
