GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Screw the Jays. This makes the travel to the Argos-Ticats game a whole lot easier. 😁

Go Rymal. Even if we get sick in the process. 😝

    Hamilton The Design District 41 | ?m | 31s | Emblem Developments | Arcadis

I guess it depends on what side of the existing buildings one lives, and where the winds spread the dust. It won't be fun, but I imagine people living across the street from new towers face many of the same issues.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

When it comes down to cost of maintaining and operating highways like the Linc/RHVP and E.C. Row, I don't think any city would balk at a provincial take-over. KW's freeways are also the gateways to places like Stratford and St. Jacobs and Elmira. I could see uploading at least the Hwy 8...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

The main one, from what I recall, was expanding Centennial Parkway. And it was nixed due to cost and disruption to residences and businesses along the corridor. Alternatives farther east would have meant a "new" escarpment crossing that would have been prohibitive. It's become a part of the...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

If it has to do with their own work at Long Branch, the closure will be easily postponed.

    Hamilton Jamesville Redevelopment | ?m | 20s | Marz Homes | Kirkor

True, and it's mainly been Gage that I've noticed in the past year or two. I haven't crossed other CN corridors in a long time, except where they're grade-separated. Along the Grimsby Sub the one at Ottawa St. is still a launching pad for cars going too fast, and Parkdale used to be horrible too...

Of course not. I meant "we" as in Canada, per the original post.

Hopefully this bodes well for something opening on that site. Unless it's already been sold (with the lot behind) for an eventual new building when the market turns again.

    Hamilton Confederation GO Station | ?m | 1s | Metrolinx

Or Al was trying or told to try to "stir the pot" a little. It may be a bit more convenient for people living a short drive from the station who want to get to downtown Hamilton, though it's a hike for most to go from West Harbour to King or Main. Still, these non-Union-focused trips are what...

    Hamilton Jamesville Redevelopment | ?m | 20s | Marz Homes | Kirkor

CN (and CP) seem to spend as little as they can beyond operating the lines they have, though this is understandable given they are businesses. I'm actually surprised there have been level crossing improvements to CN's main route through Hamilton; so many of the others, like CP's and those of the...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

The design of the RHVP was a compromise to "preserve" more of the valley floor for nature... the original configuration was much straighter and 6-lanes wide. I would think the environmental groups figured it would end up wider eventually anyway, but bought time (the grade-separated section near...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

I'm still routinely passed on the RHVP by vehicles doing well over 100 km/h. Tesla Blvd is easy to creep beyond 90 as it is now (especially heading toward the QEW); the westward flow slowing to 60 km/h is more understandable, given the likelihood of police waiting as vehicles come off the...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Political for sure. It's a curvy road but safe if safely driven, even before the "slippery" pavement issue was fixed. An upload may also be key to moving past the issues with Indigenous groups, never mind others that were against the RHVP. There is much mistrust of the city and I would think...

    VIA Rail

And usually going downtown to downtown. I'm a train person so the trade-offs are easy for me, but having that more direct linkage is important to me.

We already had one, and his name was forced out. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_St._Regis_Toronto

    Hamilton Jamesville Redevelopment | ?m | 20s | Marz Homes | Kirkor

Yes. Here's an opinion piece written by CN's Senior Manager of Public Affairs published today. Sorry Dan, but your fact-checkers need to improve their use of Google Maps... the housing is a lot more than 60m away from the yard; the rail corridor is a little over 50m, but the yard itself is over...

    Hamilton TD Coliseum Renovations | ?m | 4s | OVG | BBB

Dating myself here, but I went to the very first concert at Copps Coliseum after it was built... and also went to auto shows, and hockey games, in the latter 1980s
