    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

If the bank would back me, I would. Too much debt though. :( Like the 7 little guys once said, "I owe, I owe, so off to work I go... (whistle, whistle) I owe, I owe!" o_O

No mention of Cinnabon or Michel's Bakery, my two favourite stops in the old Bay Concourse. Disappointing but not giving up hope

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

This project isn't why ML delayed the additional train service. Apparently they and CN are still 'negotiating' for track usage.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I used to live in that area once upon a time (30 years or so ago... Wow!). I've always wondered why McMurchy wasn't extended north over the tracks to meet Pleasantvie. As a young BMX rider/walker who used to cross those tracks almost every day that would have made way more sense than going...

    You forgot "latte sipping"

I think if there were some solid food options available down there like, for example: a full Timmies, full McD's, Cinnabon, even a Michel's Baguette (one of my favourites from the old concourse) and maybe some seating & tables, might be good business.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

So in 2015, the Kitchener Line got only 14 midday trains, not 18. And on New Years Eve, the Barrie Line got only 19 weekend daily trips, not 24

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

I recently read somewhere that it might be opened in Q1 2018. Currently trying to dig that source up. Torontounion.ca holds some info including a link to the Toronto.ca Union Station page with a timeline of completion for some of the major works...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Hopefully the first "x" is a 2 at least.

If and when they reopen Platform 4 at Bramalea, that much, at least, could become easier as that Platform is on a siding track. Been closed for two years now for the simple task of installing an ice melt system and a shed.

ML definitely needs to do more advertising. Outside the transit system. Posters, billboards, street signs, whatever it takes. I know people who still don't know about the existence of midday trains to/from Brampton after almost two years.

I like the seats on the Go more, especially in the new cars. I'm tall and the new headrests are higher. I also find the ride on UPX far more bumpy and shaky when it's up to speed. Go ridership at Bloor and especially Weston is lower, but not zero.

May I ask what the difference is between implementing service April 8 & waiting till the end of the month?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

There is still ridership from points in Brampton to those two stops as well. And, for the record, I'll take the Go train ride over the UPX any day Edit to add: I think it would be disappointing if ridership were the reason for delaying added train service as well. And it's too bad it won't be...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I'm in the camp that believes the lack of evening trains plays against midday ridership. Not to mention that even now, on evenings and nights of significant events downtown ie. Sports, major concert, it's a circus trying to cram in all the extra bus services (which are usually still not enough)...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

The corridor from Parkdale to USRC is supposed to accommodate 8 tracks. Even at the Dufferin Tunnel which was built short, there was still room for 6 tracks. But, for some reason, only four live tracks were laid ( 1-Milton, 2-UPX, 1-Barrie/Kitchener during normal operations). Why at least a...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Saw the new addition on two of the Go ticket machines in the York Concourse as well. Thankfully the whole process went through without too much of a hiccup. Wish they could add tap-to-pay credit/debit like on the dedicated Presto reload machines. But it worked so I guess we take what we can get...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

So I think we can all agree that the effects of closing the current York U stop can be mitigated more or less with the opening of Downsview Park and the York subway extension. Therefore, this seeming concern and panic is unwarranted. How about a new stop at Hwy 7 intersecting the new Viva...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

That station could be poised to be a boon to the area. Lots of industrial development around. But would TTC serve all day trains in the area as local service would be needed for last mile trips to places of work? For one train service? Or would TTC continue to just connect to the subway at...
