GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I don't view transferring to the subway as a disaster. It's going to be a fully accessible transfer with elevators & escalators. The trip would be a bit longer and more expensive under the current fare structure adding $30/week (5 days two ways) for TTC. Unless something changes on that front.

Hmmm... What about the York U shuttle service moving to Downsview Park, Rutherford or... to a New station at Hwy 7?

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The problem with Steeles is that Peel Region has identified it as a transportation corridor, ie a trucking corridor. As such, the three lane right of way needs to be maintained if an LRT were to be built. Which means another 15-20 metre widening to accommodate the LRT, which means numerous...

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Oh I get all of that. Definitely something stinky there. But now on top of the wasted time, now we're talking millions of $$$s wasted as well. I hope people do the right thing and vote some of these jokers (councillors) out in the next election, albeit 4 years late imo. It's time for new blood...

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Don't the Kennedy and McLaughlin routes do significantly more damage to commercial and residential properties along Steeles east or west than Main, which did almost none at all? Weren't those routes already rejected on those grounds? WTF?

When do you merge in a merging lane?

Here, here. I can be as fast as anyone else on the highway when and where traffic allows. But in congestion and on local roads we all need to just relax and take a chill pill. I see blown stop signs, speeding in school zones, blowing by stopped school buses, speeding through red lights, etc, far...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I agree with multiple announcements. Heck, they should probably do at least one major presser at each station along the line. I know people who still don't know about the day time trains on the Kitchener line. Or didn't until I mentioned it to them. But the info should be full and complete. It...

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

Agreed. Still need to implement the 7 day 2 way train service to Mount Pleasant, among other promised service rollouts. The situation (traffic) on the roads is steadily growing worse and non-road (rail) options, especially now on the Kitchener Line where the bulk of the core work is done, is a...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Right. Have the same chart on my comp. Working on my iPad just now. But was responding to the earlier question of what was supposedly next up. Track was supposed to be needed before the Stouffville service increase. Haven't seen an update in a while on that. Anyone have current info?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

:( I see your point, and for the record, as I said I would personally love to see half hourly service at least through the 7:50 trip but again I temper my expectations and wishes with what I unfortunately foresee ML actually doing near-term. That bar is extremely low in my eyes presently...

Wasn't the Stouffville service scheduled for about 2018? That was why I didn't mention it.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Barrie weekend hourly trains and Kitchener line evenings & weekend hourly trains. At first I thought those services would come online as of next week but the rumour around UT is saying early next year. I also always felt that while welcome as a start, 24 or 28 trains on the weekends was a little...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Not that I would or wouldn't but my comment was based on the fact that the current midday hourly service was implemented at the cost of the half hourly bus services in place previously. For the record, I would skip the buses and stick to the trains in the case of both being offered, but that's...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I believe that the simple 1st hurdle of getting hourly service all day seven day from Mount Pleasant (or Bramalea) to Union is quite enough of a challenge for now without having the added logistics of a Weston -Bramalea shuttle. Besides, some are calling the midday ridership woeful but to my...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

So, on a related subject and just to be clear. No new evening and weekend trains to/from Mount Pleasant (or even Bramalea) - Union coming next month? Just the two current trains extending to Kitchener?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

This annoys me as well. Still waiting with growing impatience for evening and weekend service to be added to the Kitchener line, hopefully in September. Although I see and hear rumours that this may not happen at that time. Yet announcements are being made about service improvements and...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Of course, we should have had an LRT finished and up and running for about 2 years now which we could have been observing and learning from (Sheppard East), but that discussion is in another thread.

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Quite frankly, moving the LRT onto Steeles in either direction would require widening the road itself to maintain a 3 lane right-of-way for traffic/trucks. The Region of Peel has already designated Steeles a transport corridor I.e. Lots of industrial/truck traffic. There's a lot of residential...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I use the midday service regularly, mostly from Bramalea, occasionally from downtown Brampton. Maybe twice from Mount Pleasant. My schedule varies so I'm on at various times throughout the day. Generally I've seen a steady upward trend in ridership whenever I ride, which is positive. Each week...
