Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Just to drive this point home, if you take a look at the TTC Capital Investment Plan (2019-2033), on page 27, you can see the needs for Line 1 (image below). This graph shows that by 2030, without accounting for any extension, Line 1 vehicle storage (Wilson & Davisville yards and various...

Apparently it's a standard issue that the City doesn't like changing the sidewalk material. It was noted in a coverpage article recently about the Montgomery condo at Yonge & Eg. I think that article mentioned it took a lot of work to bring the City around to letting the developer extend their...

Brookfield is a long-term player. If the plans go as far as replacing the roof, perhaps a newer design that takes up less 'open-position' space could open up the possibility of redeveloping corners of the existing structure for condo/office/etc. Looking at this construction photo though, even...

Davidi's article from a year ago suggests the land swap in exchange for paying for part of rail-deck park - not a bad idea. That could work well for the land immediately east of the ramp down to Rogers Centre parking. Even building over that down ramp, in exchange for Rogers also building...

    Transit Fantasy Maps

Someone requested this from the Ontario Line post, so this is an update of a map I've posted before. My take on GTHA transit endgame.

Its an updated snap of a larger map I've posted before on the Fantasy Thread...my update of the Metrolinx map with everything that's been put on the table in the GTHA, made with Inkscape. Just cross-posted the full one here.

If we're drawing lines on maps, and SkyTrain-capacity is what we're talking about, why not combine Ontario Line, relief-line long, Sheppard subway east, part of the existing Line 3 and a Line 3 east extension to Malvern to get the most out of this. Circuitous yes, not ideal no, but more of a...

Although I saw a few people migrate from the UP platform to the GO platform at Weston when they took away the PRESTO loyalty, a number of those people have migrated back since. It's still packed on the platform at Weston in the morning rush, meaning most people don't mind paying the extra $40...

I have visions of VCC-Clark station in Vancouver, with Skytrain running along a heavy rail corridor.

    Orangeville-Brampton Railway (OBRY)

Not sure if it applies here, but the government just made changes to the Shortline Railways Act as a part of the Getting Ontario Moving Act. From the link here, the summary of the changes include: Currently, the Act requires a shortline railway that intends to discontinue a railway line to go...

    Pickering Airport (Transport Canada/GTAA, Dead)

I wouldn't be surprised if the Ontario Line jogged down from Queen Spadina, CityPlace (interchange with new Barrie GO line , station), then made its way to Bathurst and Lakeshore for Billy Bishop, then on to Exhibition.

Do they move the Science Centre to Ontario Place, and redevelop a yard under the Science Centre lands, then develop above it as res/commercial to mirror the Celestica redevelopment? Or they do a yard alongside the rail corridor in Thorncliff Park...that alignment would allow a Thorncliff Park...

Election year = feds have to commit what Ford is asking for as a minimum to try to keep Toronto. In addition, they have to go OVER AND ABOVE that to give Toronto what it wants (read Waterfront and Eglinton East, or pay City's share of the other projects) to win Toronto votes.

    Toronto Bloor–Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Its not unlikely, its happening. And the comment that the SSE is already funded...there's nothing to say that if the government uploads, they don't put YSE extension ahead of SSE, or Relief ahead of SSE, or extra stations on SSE ahead of funding the STC station when Oxford can. And if they...

    Toronto Bloor–Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

If the province is making Woodbine pay for their station, and they are likely asking First Gulf to pay for their GO station...if the province takes ownership of the subway, do you think they will similarly as First Gulf to pay for the subway station, and Oxford to pay for Scarborough Centre...

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

They've dropped to 13 years now (closer to industry standard), and the spike was because of PTIF. They would, rightfully, prefer steady-state procurement.

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

And in reality, its not that slow. 2019 onwards is all hybrids, and they will stop buying those for eBuses in ~2025. The long timeframe is to roll-over the fleet. Much easier for someone who has a large fleet the same age (or a neglible fleet set to grow) to convert everything much sooner...

From the trains that did operate intermittently that I managed to get on for my commute, the problem seemed to be the lower corners of the door tracks icing up. They were trying to unjam them at the station.

As I understand it, Lululemon might be moving into the vacated J Crew space. Lulu is above Abercrombie, with Ann Taylor in between it and current Apple. Does that mean Apple might expand up from Abercombie into a few units?
