Agree to disagree then. Some companies just lean heavily into acronyms because it's easier for everyone involved. Even in an official capacity. Take a look at most of our big banks: CIBC, BMO, RBC. They very rarely use their long form names. A similar use case is when they sponsor a venue...

Neither of these ever use acronyms, but York U is a thing. I see TMU often in banner usage around campus. U of T is probably used way more often than University of Toronto. Toronto Metropolitan University is a mouth full and I'm glad they're using the acronym. Vaughn should've been Vaughan...
