    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

I don't know if it's just me, but the screens seem darker or just more difficult to read with the new update on the TTC.

    44th Canadian Federal Election

That's campaign spending, not spending to run the actual election. Read the article in the link.

If you're riding in business, you're doing it cause you want to work/eat/drink. You can't do that if your head is rested against the window, and you're asleep (that's what economy class is for). Edit: also it's a good storage space for backpacks, briefcases, purses, etc.

There aren't any stations for the trains to stop at.

I was serious, I live near the mid Toronto line and there have been more trains than usual. I had trouble sleeping last night because of the noise. Some locos had CN on them, but it's also not that uncommon even before the incident. Nonetheless, I'm sorry. I should have said that the CP mid...

Wonder how many of them are anti abortion 🤔, if any, very hypocritical.

    44th Canadian Federal Election

This election will cost at least $500 million ... assuming that a new variant doesn't pop up and tack on additional medical costs. https://www.elections.ca/content.aspx?section=res&dir=rep/off/cou&document=index43&lang=e

https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/government-of-canada-and-via-rail-announce-extensive-chatham-windsor-railline-improvements-538868941.html ^ Apparently they already did, but it's still bumpier than the Dundas/Oakville subs. I guess it's because the limit is 90 mph, vs 75 mph on...

I doubt that VIA is going to double-track the Chatham sub. The real bottleneck is at Komoka where VIA has to wait for freights to/from Sarnia. Chatham and Glencoe stations could get second tracks though to eliminate double-stopping.

4 Advantages of sitting in a rear facing seat on VIA plus one bonus Some people get motion sickness from sitting in them, and ask the service manager for a seat change leaving you with an empty seat next to you. If the train crashes into debris and goes into emergency, the front facing people...

Pre-COVID, metal boxes containing meal trays were loaded onto 71 in the morning in the galley of car 3. The service manager would unload these boxes in London. Meals, chocolates, and snack mixes are loaded onto trains in London by station staff as needed. The same thing happens in Kingston.

Ride an LRC, then ride a rebuilt HEP. The ride quality on the LRC is way better (less screeching, vibrations, etc.) Also the aisles are wider on the LRC and the intercar doors are motorized, so the service attendants like it more too since they don't have to worry about bumping into...

    VIA Rail

Yes, what I was saying was that GO has more flexibility to deliver more frequent and affordable services as an integrated bus and rail operator vs VIA who is confined to operating trains by its mandate. And that the Feds shouldn't use federal taxpayer money to replace a failed intraprovincial...
