    Brampton Transit/Zum

Somewhat.....but not totally and, to be fair, not restricted to the area around the hub......an inordinate (IMO) amount of the land in DT Brampton is publicly owned...but there are glimmers of hope.

"begin procurement" are there parts of that area the city does not already own? :)

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

The times we want to use the subway from here in Brampton our choices are between Kipling and 407 Station.....weirdly, Kipling wins most times....the travel times are almost identical...but only if you use the 407 so the cost advantage swings to Kipling

The Future of City-Owned Golf Courses in Toronto

The first course i ever played in Scotland was the world famous Turnberry (when it was well regarded before "he" bought it) and thought it charming that on one of the great courses of the world (and every course I have played there since) you regularly see people walking their dogs, talking to...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

There is a general shortage of industrial space across the country....but the stuff that is on the northwest corner of that intersection (the land looking to be rezoned) is not the type that people are looking for (it is - or was - old, low ceiling height stuff with parking lots not very...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

The city has this in front of the province looking for an MZO....they are looking to, quite dramatically, change the landscape around the station ;) The proponent suggests they could, over time, house 12,500 directly across the street from the GO station.

    Brampton 31-33 George Street North | 153.95m | 42s | Greenwin | Sweeny &Co

Maybe with the population growth coming to DT with all of these new rental towers the economics of a bigger/better/more modern store will come together for the LCBO. What is interesting to me here is the sponsorship. With Greenwin involved and Boardwalk at 45 railroad and Hazelview over at...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I am a bit confused.....the future level of service at some undetermined date explains why someone who lives in Brampton and has for a long time is unaware of the current level of service? I am not buying that. Also 1) your first point about Bramalea "barely" touches the core of Brampton...it...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

So it is just a switch that has a speed limit? Is that much of an issue here? Would trains not, naturally, be going slow here anyway?

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

non-techy asking a question here...what does he mean by "shame about the low speed switch"?

    Orangeville-Brampton Railway (OBRY)

nothing against parks, and nothing against acquisitions of park lands but i am wondering about the "rush"...I don;t remember this being debated (it could have been, I don't follow city hall meetings that closely) and I don't think there was any great push for some alternative use...and...

    Brampton 45 Railroad | ?m | 25s | Boardwalk REIT | Graziani + Corazza

Was hanging around the Brampton GO station on Sunday (waiting for a train ;) so I had lots of time to kill) and I snapped this...I get that those who are more focused on architecture are not happy with this building but I have to say, seeing a rental building springing up so close to GO station...

    Brampton 205 Queen Street East | ?m | 31s | Hazelview | Graziani + Corazza

just came back to share some pics...and got sucked into commenting...not sure i will stay long ;)

    Orangeville-Brampton Railway (OBRY)

How much debate did this get in council? Seems an odd decision to drop $25 million on land and forgo $19k a year in tax revenue. Wonder what the rush was. Wonder what they were worried was going to happen to this land if they did not write the cheque?

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

Rogers owns the leasehold interest in the stadium...another company owns the leasehold interest in the hotel....so Rogers can't just arbitrarily renovate the hotel part.

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Oh, i know why a lot of MiWay and GO routes would want to get there...but not sure why there would be a huge demand from TTC to get there..

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

if they are going to renovate the hotel area they are gonna spend a decent chunk of the $250MM budget just buying the hotel from its owners.

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

is there a huge demand to get to Renforth Station?

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

This, really is my last post on this the lease of 99 years was meant to reflect an effective sale....it is not uncommon in land lease situations at all. yes, the latter years in any present value calculation have less impact on the result than the first years....play around with a calculator...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

I am not disputing the $30B number, sorry if you thought i was. I am disputing/questioning the comparing that figure with the $3.1B price it was sold for. The three main things that would lead to an increase in value of this investment would be: Increased revenue from tolls more cars using...
