    Toronto Maple Leaf Square | 185.92m | 54s | Lanterra | KPMB

Just noticed on the UVA website that they have won the commission to do the public art component of the project. Best day ever. Should be amazing to see what they come up with. http://www.uva.co.uk/news

What do you guys think of this layout?

The breakfast room could also be modified by extending the kitchen cabinets along that wall with the bookcase and extending the kitchen island into some sort of breakfast bar.

I'd love to see a permanent Cirque Du Soleil show somewhere in Toronto. It could be a great addition to the Toronto scene and probably attract quite a large number of tourists. Wasn't there plans for a permanent show in Montreal down by the Casino?

Hume is right on with this one. Even when the condo is done the centre will still be there empty. I don't see how this solves any existing problems.

    Restaurant Comings & Goings

So they Keg will be open in 4 years. Thanks for the notice Mr or Ms Freed salesperson. I'll start saving my gift cards. Still good to hear. I wonder if that means it will take up the base of the silverplate building.

Great sense of scale. This is what Toronto should be building more of.

I only hope when it does get built, they leave the old frontage as some sort of restaurant. I've always thought that empty space is crying out for another large patio.

    Toronto 2015 Pan American Games

It does set it up nicely for us. It would be our 3 try would it not and history has favoured cities on their 3rd tries. The only thing that might be against us is that they would have 2 Olympics back to back in the western hemisphere.

Shops at Don Mills (redevelopment, Giannone Petricone/Pellow + Associates )

Sounds about right. 26 storys dwarfs anything in the neighbourhood. I don't see why they can't just start somewhere around 15 stories and let future development slowly adjust to future density.

Westside Gallery Lofts (Queen West Triangle, Urbancorp, 20 + 8s, Kirkor) COMPLETE

Blame the city for it's lack of enforcement on developers to carry out original plans.

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

I'm actually in the Oscar Peterson Suite. It's 541 sq ft. Not 560 as I thought.

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

It all really depends on the layout of the unit. I'm in a 560 sq ft unit in the Hudson but the layout is fantastic. Not an inch of wasted space. My living/dining room is larger than most of the new 2 bdrm units i'm seeing in newer buildings. My living/dining is 18x11 which is pretty large for a...

    Toronto 550 Wellington West and 1 Hotel | ?m | 15s | Freed | a—A

Don't know if 44m would be approved. That stretch of King St W has some pretty tight planning regulations. I hope they don't approve it because something that tall would really throw off the vibe along King Street.

The Tenor (10 Dundas St E, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

Someone should just burn it down. Get it over with.

Walked by this today and the ground level is taking shape. It appears the main level will be completely glass. They were installing tall vertical glass beams along the street which should support the windows. It's going to look great.

GG has the strongest record in town if you ask me. If anyone is capable if making something special and building it to the original vision, its them.

    Toronto River City Condos Phases 1 & 2 | ?m | 16s | Urban Capital | ZAS Architects

Now that the city has made land available to developers, let the market set the price. I swear to God, if the city lends any developers money to get this off the ground, i'll burn down city hall. Developers just have to build something that people will want to buy. Sure it's not in some hip...

    Lille, France part 1

Wow, what a great looking city. Thanks for taking the photos! I had passed through on the highway on the way to the vimy memorial but I was too tired on my drive back to Amsterdam to spend any time in the city. It looked great from the highway though!

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Is anyone else feeling a little uneasy about the planning around this future neighbourhood? While it does the best of job recreating the original Don, I wonder if the neighbourhood seems too small to become a vibrant destination. It's too bad they couldn't be a little more creative with the...
